The Senior Manager, Collections Strategy and Analytics is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, and optimizing data-driven collection strategies across retail and small business portfolios to reduce delinquencies, lower PCL and write-offs, improve portfolio performance, and promote appropriate customer outcomes. Through advanced analytics, segmentation, test-and-learn practices, executive reporting, strategy governance, Asset Sale oversight, and scalable Power BI insights, the incumbent partners with Collection Operations, Contact Strategy, Risk, Product, Technology, Governance, and external stakeholders to support sound risk-based decisions, effective execution, appropriate controls, and alignment with the Risk Appetite Framework.

  • Lead the development, implementation, monitoring, and optimization of collection strategies
  • Establish risk-based frameworks and standards to oversee collection strategies, segmentation, decision science, and test-and-control practices.
  • Provide effective challenge and recommendations regarding collection effectiveness, recoveries, customer treatment, and portfolio outcomes.
  • Assess strategy and policy changes to ensure credit risks are appropriately identified, quantified, governed, and communicated.
  • Develop dashboards, risk reporting, and early warning indicators to identify emerging risks and enable timely escalation.
  • Maintain a second-line-of-defence framework for Asset Sale activities to assess adherence to risk appetite and governance requirements and provide evidence-based recommendations to senior management.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen Collections risk management, operational effectiveness, and productivity.
  • Automate and streamline collection processes to improve execution, productivity, recoveries, and loss outcomes.
  • Apply advanced analytics, machine learning, and champion/challenger testing to optimize collection strategies and treatments.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance risk management, operational effectiveness, and customer outcomes.
  • Develop governed, self-service Power BI reporting to deepen insights and accelerate decision-making.
  • Leverage text analytics and AI to convert unstructured collections data into actionable insights for segmentation, treatment optimization, and risk mitigation.
  • Support business line initiatives and projects
  • Provide an independent challenge on business initiatives, pilots, renewals, policy changes, and portfolio decisions.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Product, Collections, Technology, and Governance to assess credit risk and support balanced decisions
  • Validate that proposals are supported by robust financial, quantitative, and portfolio analysis.
  • Coordinate timely, well-supported responses to OSFI, Internal Audit, and other control functions.
