Purpose

Contributes to the overall success of Scotia Global Asset Management (SGAM) Product Strategy in International Asset Management, ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team's business strategies and objectives, demonstrating strong execution discipline.

The Senior Manager, Business Initiatives will work closely with the Director, Product Strategy, Product and Asset Management Leaders and a diverse set of stakeholders in the development and delivery of strategic and Product Strategy initiatives, using structured coordination and follow-through to ensure outcomes are delivered effectively.

Accountabilities
  • Support SGAM International Product Strategy initiatives; engage Product teams in Canada and Countries as wells as senior asset management leadership to drive key initiatives that align with and propel the strategic vision, providing high-impact support that translates strategy into execution, with strong oversight of initiative delivery.
    In partnership with key stakeholders, manage projects through the full lifecycle, ensuring deliverables are met and delivered with a high degree of effectiveness, demonstrating end-to-end ownership of initiative delivery.
  • Partner with the Director, Product Strategy to support core activities such as business planning, reporting, communications and presentation development, enhanced by strong planning and coordination abilities.
  • Lead the preparation of executive reporting, including project status summaries, milestone dashboards, risk-and-issue updates, and executive commentary. Optimize and improve existing reporting packages to align with structured project reporting practices.
  • Coordinate reporting deliverables by liaising with leadership and deliverable owners across functions, applying strong tracking and coordination discipline.
  • Manage KPI reporting for all the initiatives, including the development of KPIs and tracking of progress, using robust measurement and progress-tracking capabilities.
  • Act as a key liaison for different stakeholders, enterprise strategy teams and various committees that engage with SGAM leadership, utilizing strong cross-functional coordination skills.
  • Assist the Director, Product Strategy with coordinating steering committee meetings and track and manage action items, ensuring consistent follow-through and accountability.
  • Track all SGAM, International Product Strategy annual goals and initiatives, using methodical monitoring and documentation skills.
  • Collaborate with the Director, Product Strategy in planning and delivery of executive leadership offsite meetings, using strong event planning and coordination discipline.
  • Facilitate working sessions with stakeholders across GWM and the Bank to advance strategic initiatives, applying effective facilitation and delivery-focused capabilities.
  • Champions a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment, demonstrating strong leadership in guiding teams toward successful execution.
  • Foster strong collaborative partnerships and relationships with stakeholders across GWM and the Bank to help drive and support the execution of strategic projects and initiatives, reinforcing effective cross-functional orchestration.
  • Understand how the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions, including disciplined oversight of risks and dependencies.
  • Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank's Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk, supported by strong governance and control discipline.


Education / Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required,
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of Agile delivery methodologies with the ability to apply Agile principles to planning, execution, and iterative delivery.
  • A high level of attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards
