What is the opportunity?

As Senior Manager of Investment Advisory for U.S. Wealth Management Operations, you will report directly to the Director of Operations and lead a dedicated team responsible for ensuring seamless operations of client advisory accounts, account administration including new account setup, terminations, fee billing and general updates to advisory accounts. This role will serve as the bridge between Operations, Advisory Products, and various Operations leadership at RBC.

What will you do?
  • Escalation Resolution: Act as the senior point of escalation for complex operational issues requiring judgment beyond routine procedures
  • Team Management: Supervise a team of 4-6 staff composed of operations managers and initiative managers, with downline support for operations associates
  • Project Leadership: Lead operational improvement projects, manage resources, and coordinate with third-party vendors
  • Process Oversight: Own and improve operational processes to reduce manual effort, errors, and risk; implement workflow enhancements
  • Risk Mitigation Focus: Develop and maintain department procedures and Written Supervisory Procedures (WSP's) as well as perform oversight.
  • General Duties: Provide support with department volume metrics, staffing models, financial forecasts, audit requests, and budgets as required.

  • Securities license 7 or 99 (or able to obtain license within 120 days)
  • Knowledge of Operations processes and service delivery frameworks
  • 2-4 years in investment operations, fund administration, accounting or related roles
  • 2+ years demonstrated and sound managerial experience leading and managing a team
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with an ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.


Nice-to-have

  • Previous experience with Advisory business and Advisory billing across multiple platforms
  • Advanced problem identification, analytical and resolution skills required to support escalated issue resolution and/or oversight requirements associated with exception-based complex processes.
  • Experience with business transformation of Advisory billing, administration, and trading systems

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $90,000 - $160,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate's experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
