A large Media client is expanding its engineering team to support a new initiative focused on subscription-based services. We're looking for a Senior Java Engineer to help architect, build, and maintain scalable APIs that power the subscription platform. This is a high-impact role on a newly formed team, offering the opportunity to shape foundational systems from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Java and Spring Boot
Build and support RESTful APIs and GraphQL endpoints for subscription management and user entitlements
Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers to deliver high-quality solutions
Ensure systems are scalable, secure, and performant in a cloud-native environment
Participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and agile ceremonies
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues with a proactive mindset

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of professional experience in backend development with Java and Spring Boot
Strong understanding of relational databases and data modeling
Proven experience building and maintaining REST APIs and GraphQL services
Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native design patterns
Ability to work independently and solve complex programming challenges without over-reliance on AI tools
Comfortable using AI tools to enhance productivity where appropriate

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Exposure to Go (Golang) in production environments
Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code
Knowledge of subscription platforms or digital media ecosystems
