Job Summary

Battelle is seeking an experienced Senior Master Scheduler to support planning, coordination, and execution across the Advanced Microsystems Solutions (AMS) Spectrum Solutions portfolio. This role will serve as the central scheduling authority for production activities, laboratory utilization, engineering resources, and program execution across multiple concurrent efforts.

Approximately 50% of this position will support production planning and laboratory resource management in partnership with production leadership. The remaining 50% will support Spectrum Solutions Program Managers by maintaining integrated project schedules, synchronizing activities across programs, and providing portfolio-level visibility into schedule and resource demands.

The successful candidate will develop and maintain an integrated master schedule that provides leadership with a clear understanding of priorities, dependencies, critical paths, resource allocations, and potential conflicts. This position is based in Columbus, Ohio and supports a growing portfolio of advanced communications, sensing, electronic warfare, autonomy, RF hardware, and software-defined systems programs.

Responsibilities

Integrated Master Scheduling
  • Develop and maintain integrated master schedules across production, engineering, laboratory, and program activities.
  • Establish schedule dependencies, milestones, critical paths, and execution priorities.
  • Provide leadership with consolidated schedule status, forecasts, and execution metrics.
  • Identify schedule risks, resource conflicts, and potential bottlenecks before they impact program performance.
  • Maintain schedule baselines and support planning and change management activities.
  • Maintain a consolidated portfolio resource schedule and proactively identify conflicts involving personnel, laboratories, test assets, production resources, and critical milestones.


Production & Resource Planning
  • Coordinate production runs, hardware builds, laboratory activities, test events, and demonstrations.
  • Manage utilization of shared laboratory facilities, specialized equipment, engineering resources, and production assets.
  • Balance competing priorities across production, development, integration, and test activities.
  • Ensure technical teams have clear visibility into upcoming schedules and resource requirements.


Program & Portfolio Synchronization
  • Partner with Spectrum Solutions Program Managers to develop and maintain detailed project schedules.
  • Synchronize schedules across customer-funded programs, IRADs, proposal efforts, production activities, and product development initiatives.
  • Support planning for major reviews, demonstrations, test events, and customer deliveries.
  • Provide a portfolio-level view of key milestones, resource demands, and schedule impacts.


Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Serve as the central coordination point between program management, engineering, production, and operations teams.
  • Lead recurring schedule synchronization meetings and drive resolution of resource conflicts.
  • Support proposal planning through schedule development, resource forecasting, and execution planning.
  • Promote consistent scheduling processes and planning best practices across the organization.


Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Program Management, or a related discipline.
  • 7+ years of experience managing complex project, production, or portfolio schedules.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining Integrated Master Schedules (IMS).
  • Strong understanding of critical path analysis, resource loading, schedule forecasting, and risk management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, Smartsheet, or similar scheduling tools.
  • Experience working across engineering, manufacturing, testing, and program management organizations.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
  • U.S. Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting defense, aerospace, communications, electronics, RF systems, or advanced technology programs.
  • Knowledge of Integrated Master Scheduling (IMS) and Earned Value Management (EVM) principles.
  • Experience managing resource-loaded schedules across engineering and production environments.
  • Familiarity with laboratory operations, hardware development, system integration, testing, and manufacturing workflows.
  • Experience with Power BI, Microsoft Project Online, Primavera P6, Smartsheet, or related planning tools.
  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance.


Compensation Data

Battelle is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this role is $70,000 - $116,000, in addition to our comprehensive benefits package. A candidate's salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to education, relevant work experience, skills, and certifications. Salary ranges may vary based on geographic location and market conditions.
