Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior HR Business Partner for a direct hire opportunity in San Diego, CA, supporting a high-technology aerospace and defense environment. As a Senior HR Business Partner, you will work closely with leaders and employees to support organizational effectiveness, employee relations, talent development, performance management, compensation programs, and change initiatives. Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic HR Business Partner to leaders and employees, aligning HR programs and people strategies with business objectives.
- Advise managers on employee relations, performance management, coaching, conflict resolution, progressive documentation, and organizational change.
- Lead or support global HR initiatives, including policy development, change management, leadership development, culture-building, and organizational transformation projects.
- Facilitate talent development sessions and create HR-related training for client groups, including performance management and leadership development topics.
- Partner with talent acquisition and business leaders on candidate selection, salary analysis, offer recommendations, and internal equity considerations.
- Analyze HR data, exit interview trends, engagement insights, and workforce information to identify issues and recommend practical solutions.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary Range: $80,000 to $125,000 per year.

- Support global HR programs across multiple countries or regions while considering cultural differences and employment practices.
- Analyze workforce data and HR metrics to present actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Training, or a related discipline.
- Typically requires 10 or more years of progressive professional experience in a corporate Human Resources department.
- A recognized human resources certificate and equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Strong knowledge of Federal and California employment laws.
- Experience supporting international employment practices, global HR initiatives, and compliance across multiple countries or regions.
- Proven ability to advise leaders and employees on employee relations issues, company policies, best practices, and employment law considerations.
- Experience with performance management, progressive documentation, talent management, succession planning, and organizational development.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts, data sorting, and reporting.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate findings to employees, senior management, and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, coach, facilitate, and build trust across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and business information.
- Strong project management skills with the ability to initiate, plan, and manage HR projects and initiatives.
- Excellent computer skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in aerospace, defense, advanced technology, manufacturing, engineering, or another highly regulated corporate environment.
- Prior experience supporting international teams or resolving HR challenges in a global business context.
- Experience leading annual merit, bonus, and out-of-cycle compensation processes for assigned client groups.
- Background facilitating leadership development, culture-building, employee engagement, or organizational change programs.
