Job Summary
We are seeking a Sr. HR Business Partner for a direct hire opportunity in Palmdale, CA, supporting a high-technology aerospace and defense environment. This role is ideal for an experienced HR professional who thrives in a complex, mission-driven organization and enjoys partnering closely with business leaders to strengthen employee engagement, organizational performance, talent development, and workforce planning.

The Sr. HR Business Partner will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, helping resolve employee relations matters, guide performance management, support compensation processes, and improve retention through data-driven HR strategies. Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business leaders to identify workforce needs, employee behaviors, and performance indicators that support business goals.
- Provide HR guidance on employee relations, performance management, progressive documentation, engagement, retention, and organizational development.
- Facilitate talent development sessions and support training programs related to HR topics, leadership development, performance reviews, and career growth.
- Advise leaders and employees on Federal and California employment laws, company policies, and HR best practices.
- Partner with talent acquisition and management teams on key hiring decisions, candidate selection, salary analysis, and organizational equity.
- Lead annual merit, bonus, and off-cycle compensation processes for assigned client groups while using HR data and Excel analysis to identify trends and recommendations.

- Salary range: $80,000 to $125,000 per year.

- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, Training, or a related discipline.
- Typically requires 10 or more years of progressive professional experience in a corporate Human Resources department.
- Equivalent HR certification from a recognized organization and relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education.
- Strong knowledge of Federal and California employment laws and the ability to apply them to employee relations and business situations.

- Experience advising leaders on performance concerns, documentation, progressive discipline, employee engagement, and retention.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, charts, data sorting, and analysis.
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to document, report, and present findings to leadership.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, coach, guide, and build trust with employees and senior managers.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and business information.
- Strong project planning, organization, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to work extended hours and travel as required.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting aerospace, defense, manufacturing, engineering, technology, or similarly complex business environments.
- Prior experience supporting leadership development, succession planning, organizational design, or enterprise HR initiatives.
- Experience using exit interview data, engagement metrics, turnover trends, and workforce analytics to recommend practical HR solutions.
- Human Resources certification such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP is a plus.
