The Plugins Team extends Adyen's global payments platform into the Salesforce and Adobe ecosystems, empowering some of the world's largest brands to deliver seamless commerce experiences across digital and in-person channels.

As part of the team, you'll build the next generation of payment integrations. You'll work at the intersection of commerce, payments, and platform engineering, solving complex technical challenges while delivering tangible business impact. Every improvement you make can influence conversion rates, payment performance, fraud prevention, reliability, and customer experience at scale. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain deep expertise in the world of global payments while collaborating closely with customers, partners, product teams, and engineers across Adyen.

Role responsibilities / What you'll do
  • Design, build, debug, and evolve complex integrations that balance technical excellence, business impact, and long-term maintainability.
  • Take ownership of the full software delivery lifecycle-from design and implementation to code reviews, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Apply an open-source engineering mindset to large-scale codebases, championing software craftsmanship, thoughtful API design, robust testing, and collaborative development practices.
  • Own critical and non-critical production incidents end-to-end, leading cross-functional response efforts, coordinating stakeholders, and driving clear communication to ensure swift resolution and continuous learning.
  • Collaborate with engineering and product leadership to identify high-impact opportunities, influence strategic priorities, and shape the long-term vision.
  • Partner closely with Operations teams to uncover merchant pain points and deliver elegant solutions that empower Adyen customers and enable seamless payment experiences.
  • Drive sound technical decision-making by leveraging deep knowledge of software architecture, design patterns, and anti-patterns.
  • Showcase product capabilities through technical demonstrations for internal stakeholders, partners, and customers, translating complex concepts into clear business value.
  • Serve as the go-to subject matter expert for the plugins ecosystem, providing technical guidance and helping teams navigate complex challenges.
  • Create and maintain high-quality technical and functional documentation, and lead knowledge-sharing initiatives and training sessions to enable teams across the organization.

Who you are / Hard Skills Required
  • Full stack developer with the following skillset.
  • Deep proficiency in JavaScript and modern web development, including React.js, Node.js, with demonstrated expertise in software design, debugging, automated testing, performance optimization, and building production-grade applications at scale.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce B2C Commerce development, including SFRA, PWA, Script API, OCAPI, SCAPI and headless architecture, Salesforce's B2C data model, API Integration & CRUD Operations: Expertise in RESTful APIs and GraphQL.
  • Proven expertise in modern software delivery practices, including GitHub Actions and workflows, CI/CD pipelines, code quality and security gates (e.g., SonarQube/SonarCloud), automated testing with Jest and Playwright, and publishing and maintaining production-grade packages and applications.
  • Strong track record in integration design, performance optimization, and architecture, backed by robust JavaScript engineering and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Drove a significant reduction in time-to-market by embedding AI-assisted development tools into the team's software delivery lifecycle.
  • Architected robust and scalable integrations with a meticulous focus on data consistency, edge case considerations, error-handling mechanisms, and platform-specific constraints.

Nice to Have
  • Experience with payment integrations, working knowledge of designing payment flows and architectures for large enterprises.
  • Knowledge about security best practices, PCI and PII compliance and considerations.
  • Experience with Composable Commerce concepts, Salesforce OMS integrations
  • Experience with Java development
  • Experience on extending Adobe Commerce platform using PHP extensions, API Mesh, GraphQL etc.
