Full Job Description
Publix is seeking a Senior Software Engineer who will play a key role interacting with enterprise teams to define and develop architecture, technical requirements, interfaces, & implementation approaches for enterprise applications in a hybrid cloud environment.

As a member of this technology team, you will have an opportunity to influence architecture & design across enterprise/cross-functional teams in a high paced environment, participate in understanding customer/associate feedback to resolve or improve technical issues and develop, own, and drive implementation of the technology roadmap for Enterprise solutions.

On this team we are seeking a technical candidate with strong analytical, design, engineering, planning, and problem-solving skills as well as strong writing, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. The most suitable candidate will be able to communicate effectively with management, peers, and various development teams.

Location: Hybrid (Lakeland, FL):
To support our hybrid work model, candidates must reside, or be willing to relocate, within a commutable distance of Lakeland, FL.
Work Model: Enjoy the best of both worlds-collaborate in person and innovate remotely.

Your Impact
  • Drive the design and delivery of full-stack enterprise solutions that span front-end experiences, back-end services, APIs, integrations, and data-driven workflows.
  • Develop hybrid solutions that connect on-premises enterprise platforms with cloud-native services, enabling secure, scalable, and reliable application capabilities.
  • Build and enhance cloud-native application patterns using modern engineering practices, including API-first design, event-driven architecture, automation, and CI/CD delivery.
  • Engineer enterprise-grade messaging and integration solutions capable of processing large-scale message volumes across multiple business-critical applications.
  • Partner with multiple application teams to modernize integration approaches, improve system interoperability, and deliver reusable capabilities that reduce duplicated effort.
  • Translate business and technical requirements into robust application designs that support enterprise reliability, performance, maintainability, and long-term scalability.
  • Support enterprise adoption by creating well-documented services, integration patterns, and technical guidance that application teams can confidently consume and extend.
  • Continuously evaluate emerging cloud, integration, and development technologies to strengthen Publix enterprise application delivery and enable future modernization efforts.

Year End Bonus

As a year-end bonus to associates, Publix issues one month's extra pay (pro-rated in the first year) each year if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check that year. This is calculated as a 13th month of pay in the Potential Annual Pay with Bonus line above.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or other analytical discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years of experience with designing, developing, and supporting enterprise-level applications.
  • 4+ years of experience with .NET and C# development.
  • 3+ years of experience with .NET Core, WebAPI and microservices
  • 2+ years of experience with Front End Development using frameworks like React.js or Angular.js.
  • 2+ years of experience with TFS/Git code management, DevOps Integration, DevOps Pipelines, or other CI/CD tools
  • 2+ years of experience with Azure services like Azure Function Apps, Azure App Services, Azure Static Web App.
  • Experience building and deploying containerized applications.


Preferred Qualifications

  • 7+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn and adopt new technologies.
  • Experience planning and coordinating solution delivery activities in large-scale, distributed enterprise environments using emerging technologies.
  • Strong understanding of secure coding practices and software development best practices.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the .NET Framework or Java.
  • Strong technical knowledge of Windows PowerShell and practical scripting experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of IIS, Java application server platforms, and related middleware components.
  • Experience using network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark, Netmon, or Fiddler.
  • Experience with MongoDB, Redis, and Kafka.
  • Experience developing with JavaScript and Python.
