Full Job Description
Position Summary

As a key member of our engineering team, you will help change the power Generation industry. The Sr. Fuel Equipment / Auxiliary Engineer is responsible for design of combustion system equipment including burners, valves, heaters, filters, hoses, and their ancillary sub systems. This includes systems design in accordance with NFPA 85 and B31.1 codes, generation of equipment /valve lists and specifications, predation and review of vendor RFQ packages, and vendor oversight.

Essential Functions
  • Perform appropriate and accurate engineering analyses using hand calculations, spreadsheet programs, Engineering Standards, or advanced analysis tools.
  • Provide analysis and results in an effective form (written, marked up drawings, sketches, spreadsheets, presentation, as required) on work performed.
  • Provide leadership by learning, developing, and coordinating new techniques, standardizing procedures, and providing technical instruction and mentoring to department staff.
  • Provide organized and well-written reports to describe assumptions, steps taken, and results from work performed.
  • Identify/develop and use tools and techniques that improve the accuracy and/or efficiency of Department and project work.
  • Coordinate vendor/equipment design and engineering details. Review drawings and documents, maintaining quality and schedule.
  • Prepare equipment and system specifications.
  • Prepare equipment purchasing engineering documents
  • Prepare equipment, vendor technical evaluations and submit recommendations.

Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering; Mechanical Engineering or Chemical Engineering preferred.
  • Eight (8) or more years of experience in a similar or related industry, with a background in areas such as project engineering, product design, or design engineering.
  • Experience sizing, specifying valves (control, regulating, actuated, manual, etc.)
  • Experience sizing and specifying equipment as well as out together bid review packages
  • Experience in combustion system design, including coal, natural gas, oil, or related fuel systems for utility and/or industrial applications. This includes burners and fuel delivery systems.
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.1 and NFPA 85 codes and product application requirements.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license Preferred
