Job Description:The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) of FP&A is driven, organized, energetic and independently manages the financial planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis for an assigned business unit. As the FP&A owner for a division, you will act as the go-to finance partner and provide support to a senior leader to facilitate strategic decision making. This role is highly visible with multiple opportunities to build cross-functional relationships and interact with senior leadership.
Duties and Responsibilities:- Serve as the primary owner of all planning, forecasting, reporting, and analysis activities for an assigned business unit, delivering on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual cadence.
- Maintain and develop relevant financial models to project business performance and manage the associated data gathering and research process.
- Ensure accurate and timely production of periodic financial reports and present them to senior leadership monthly.
- Analyze and prepare monthly variance analysis for assigned business units, including cost allocations and other allocations.
- Manage expenses and headcount across business units, providing visibility to senior leaders on staffing, capacity, and productivity metrics. Craft relevant KPIs to measure business performance.
- Build strong relationships with internal customers as a developing trusted finance partner for the assigned business unit, providing analytical support to business leaders.
- Represent Finance in supporting key strategic initiatives. Provide financial analysis to stakeholders to enhance ROI.
- Support accounting in the monthly close process as needed.
- Provide ad-hoc support on various strategic initiatives to drive growth, efficiency and profitability.
Requirements:- Finance professional with at least 5+ years of work experience in Accounting and/or Financial Analysis, with demonstrated track record of managing core FP&A responsibilities with minimal oversight.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
- A background in the mortgage industry highly preferred.
- Demonstrated high-level knowledge of financial accounting, economics, and corporate finance.
- Advanced modeling skills with Excel and other software.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
- Strong business acumen with intellectual curiosity.
- Comfortable analyzing large volumes of complex data and communicating findings concisely.
- Proactive approach to problem solving and a focus on building strong partnerships with internal customers.
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritize workload.
- Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
