Role SummaryBloom Energy is seeking a high-performing Senior Financial Analyst to join the Commercial Finance team with a focused responsibility for Product revenue forecasting, quarter close support, and revenue performance management. This role will support Product revenue forecasting, with a specific focus on ancillary equipment, across weekly, monthly, and quarterly planning cycles.
The analyst will partner closely with Project Management, Supply Chain Finance, Operations, Accounting, and other cross-functional teams to reconcile actual quarter close results, explain variances versus forecast, identify revenue risks and opportunities, and proactively drive actions to resolve open items. This role will also support the overall contract margin review process and contribute to revenue-related projects that improve forecast accuracy, visibility, and business decision-making.
LocationThis role is based in San Jose, CA, and Bloom has a 5-day in-office culture. Some travel may be required.
Responsibilities- Own Product revenue forecasting across weekly, monthly, and quarterly cycles, with a focus on ancillary equipment, key assumptions, project timing, commercial milestones, shipments, and forecast changes.
- Support quarter close and forecast-to-actual reconciliation by comparing booked revenue, deferred revenue, billings, project status, and operational inputs against expectations.
- Partner with Project Management, Supply Chain Finance, Operations, Accounting, and Commercial teams to validate project readiness, delivery timing, shipment status, ancillary equipment assumptions, and other inputs that impact Product revenue recognition.
- Prepare variance analysis, revenue bridges, management reporting, and clear explanations of key drivers, timing shifts, mix changes, forecast accuracy trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Drive follow-up actions with cross-functional partners to resolve operational open items in order to meet revenue plan.
- Prepare Revenue reporting material, including weekly, monthly, quarterly report and annual planning
- Support key project's contract margin reviews by preparing revenue inputs, validating assumptions, coordinating with cost and operations partners, and highlighting margin risks or changes.
- Contribute to revenue-related initiatives, including Services and Installation revenue support, process improvements, forecast automation, reporting enhancements, data quality, and stronger linkage between commercial milestones and financial outcomes.
- Support special projects and ad-hoc analyses related to revenue forecasting, contract economics, close readiness, commercial execution, and AI-enabled Finance workflows.
Required Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive finance experience, including FP&A, commercial finance, revenue finance, project finance, corporate finance, investment banking, or equity research.
- Strong financial modeling skills, with experience building forecasts, variance analyses, quarter close reporting, project-level trackers, and management reporting packages.
- Experience with revenue forecasting, actuals reconciliation, forecast-to-actual variance analysis, risk and opportunity tracking, and close support.
- Ability to understand commercial contracts, project milestones, operational inputs, ancillary equipment assumptions, and how they impact Product revenue timing, forecast accuracy, and margin performance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience using enterprise systems and BI tools such as SAP, Oracle, Anaplan, Hyperion, Power BI, Tableau, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain revenue drivers, forecast changes, risks, and recommended actions to cross-functional stakeholders and finance leadership.
- Strong attention to detail, ownership mindset, and ability to manage weekly, monthly, quarterly, and close-related deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications- Experience supporting Product revenue forecasting, ancillary equipment revenue, contract margin review, Services revenue support projects, or project-based revenue models.
- Familiarity with revenue recognition concepts, commercial milestones, backlog conversion, project execution, service delivery, and quarter close processes.
- Experience in energy, power generation, capital equipment, infrastructure, electric vehicles, semiconductors, or another capital-intensive hardware or project-based business.
- Experience at a public company.
- MBA, CPA, CFA, or CMA (or in progress).
