Reporting to the Senior Director of Engineering, you'll lead the team of front end, backend, and data science engineers who build and continuously improve the systems, and models behind it , setting a culture of ownership, quality, and execution in a fast paced environment.

Navar Promise shows shoppers accurate, personalized delivery dates across the product page, cart, and checkout, using AI/ML that learns from billions of shipments across the Narvar network. Knowing when an order will arrive gives shoppers the confidence to buy and drives an uplift in conversion of merchants.

What you'll be responsible for :
  • Own the outcome : Drive Promise's roadmap and delivery end-to-end, partnering across Product, Sales, Customer Success and Support.
Set the technical direction: Stay hands on- review PR's, argue architecture, and drive an AI native way of building. Track where AI and engineering are heading, and bring the best of it into how the team works.
  • Hold the quality bar : Promise's output is a promise to a shopper. Run short, hypothesis-driven cycles and hold the line on quality so what ships doesn't break a customer's trust.
  • Build the team : Hire strong engineers, set clear OKRs tied to product goals, and manage performance decisively.

What we're looking for :
  • 8+ years of core engineering, with time as a staff engineer and 3+ years as an engineering manager in high growth startups.
  • Deep in backend and/or data science, with past experience leading teams across full stack and machine learning, and still hands on, building with AI tools alongside the team.
  • Genuinely AI native. Has changed how a team builds, improving productivity and the SDLC through agent harnesses, loop engineering, and agentic workflows, and can show the before and after.
  • Hands on experience with a major cloud platform, GCP preferred.
Has worked on consumer facing products where ease of use and conversion matter.
  • Has directly managed engineers at Staff level and above, with a track record of hiring strong talent, growing them into those roles, and managing performance decisively.
