Full Job Description
Participates in the planning, development, scheduling and performance of engineering assignments related to clean technologies and new and existing pipeline safety regulations in CT, MA and at the federal level. The Senior Engineer will be: • Working with geothermal technology, supporting operations & maintenance procedures, applying engineering concepts to develop data processing methodologies, and investigating failures of equipment and troubleshooting/analysis of system disturbances with stakeholders. • Supporting activities associated with roll-out of new and revised regulations in MA and CT, including analysis of new regulations impacts and associated implementation planning. • Aiding in completion of general day-to-day tasks of the Policy & Compliance team. This position requires the application of engineering practices as directed by the Manager, Policy & Compliance or their designee. Assuming supervisory on-call assignments are required. Essential Functions: • Understand fundamentals of Networked Geothermal operations. • Develop and maintain company standards, as directed to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations and codes. • Coordinates resources required to complete processes or projects. • Monitor regulatory updates and communicate changes to key stakeholders, ensuring proactive response to evolving requirements. • Monitor and track industry best practices and emerging trends in regulatory compliance to drive continuous improvement initiatives. • As directed, will lead implementation of new compliance initiatives resulting from new gas regulations. • Provide necessary details to training organizations to ensure understanding and adherence to regulatory requirements. • Collaborate with finance and investment planning groups to determine capital and O&M costs to the GBU. • Collaborate with legal counsel to interpret and apply regulatory requirements accurately. • Delivers superior service to our customers, both internal and external, in a reliable, attentive, courteous, quality, proactive and timely manner. • Develops positive working relationships to effectively coordinate work activities. • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills. • Maintains accurate documentation. • Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally. • Mentor junior staff, review their work, provide direction or assistance to drive standardization and success in their projects/assignments. • Assist in gas distribution system restoration efforts during emergencies. Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications Technical Knowledge/Skill: • Knowledge of gas distribution construction and maintenance work practices and procedures. • Knowledge of applicable governmental codes and regulations, with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements. • Knowledge of welding and fusing principles. • Working knowledge of environmental requirements affecting related activities. • Familiarity with MS Office. Education: • Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Experience: • Minimum Five (5)years of related engineering experience. • Gas experience is a plus. Working Conditions: • Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required. • Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary. • This position is categorized as safety-sensitive for the purpose of drug testing. The annual salary range for this position is: $129,450.00-$143,830.00 Worker Type: Regular Number of Openings: 1 Emergency Response: Responding to emergency situations to meet customers' needs is part of every employee's role. If employed, you will be given an Emergency Restoration assignment. This means you may be called to assist during an emergency outside of your normal responsibilities, work hours and location.
