Job Summary
We are seeking a Sr Embedded Systems Software Engineer with strong system-level embedded software expertise and the ability to architect, design, and implement application-layer software for complex real-time systems. The ideal candidate will have experience developing embedded control software beyond a single specialized domain, with the ability to work across system architecture, control logic, state machines, sequencing, communication interfaces, and hardware/software integration. Relevant experience may include medical devices, automotive, avionics, robotics, rail, or industrial automation environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Architect, design, and implement application-layer embedded software for complex real-time systems.
• Develop embedded control software using C/C++ for real-time microcontroller-based systems.
• Design and implement system-level control logic, state machines, and sequencing.
• Develop and integrate software for platforms such as TI C2000, NXP, or comparable microcontrollers.
• Implement and support communication interfaces and protocols including CAN, CAN derivatives, SPI, Ethernet, and ARINC 825/664.
• Apply model-based design approaches using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Support Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) testing.
• Integrate and debug software across hardware, firmware, and system boundaries.
• Analyze complex system behavior and troubleshoot embedded software and integration issues.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, and systems engineering teams to develop and validate embedded solutions.
• Support real-time software development for complex embedded systems across the system lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience developing embedded control software for complex real-time systems.
• Strong proficiency in embedded C/C++ and real-time software architecture.
• Experience architecting, designing, and implementing application-layer embedded software.
• Experience designing system-level control logic, state machines, and sequencing.
• Hands-on experience with real-time embedded systems and microcontroller platforms such as TI C2000, NXP, or comparable platforms.
• Hands-on experience with communication protocols such as CAN and derivatives, SPI, and Ethernet.
• Experience with model-based design tools such as MATLAB/Simulink.
• Experience integrating and debugging software across hardware, firmware, and system boundaries.
• Strong analytical skills and system-level problem-solving capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience developing embedded systems software in medical devices, automotive, avionics, robotics, rail, or industrial automation environments.
• Experience with DO-178C.
• Knowledge of ARP4754A and ARP4761.
• Knowledge of ISO 26262.
• Experience with ARINC 825/664.
• Experience with SIL/HIL testing.
