Full Job Description
Directs short-term multi-domain software and systems engineering plans that translate enterprise strategy into sequenced delivery priorities, operating targets, and customer commitments.
Leads multiple teams of managers and directors by setting objectives, delegating authority, confirming spans and structures, and holding leaders accountable for delivery, quality, risk, and operational performance.
Oversees budget and investment decisions across engineering domains by rebalancing resources, stopping low-yield work, and redeploying capacity to higher-value initiatives based on evidence, business priorities, and risk posture.
Shapes enterprise performance mechanisms, including objectives, key results, service measures, and operating reviews, to confirm measurable outcomes across at least two engineering domains.
Implements enterprise standards, controls, and reusable operating practices that reduce fragmentation, strengthen consistency, and sustain gains through documented governance, audit readiness, and adoption monitoring.
Sets executive decision points by presenting options, recommendations, and consequences on scope, funding, priorities, and risk tradeoffs for complex engineering and systems initiatives.
Manages leadership capability and talent outcomes across the portfolio by calibrating performance, building succession pipelines, and making talent decisions that strengthen organizational capacity over time.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, systems engineering, information technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.
Master’s degree in computer science, software engineering, systems engineering, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience preferred.
12+ years of experience in software engineering, systems engineering, or a related field required.
8+ years of experience in a management capacity required.
Certification in Agile, Scrum, cloud platform, project management, IT service management preferred.

*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/NewYork/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
