University Advancement seeks a results-driven Senior Director of Advancementto advance major gift fundraising for the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS). Join a mission-driven team advancing student success, groundbreaking research, and lasting philanthropic impact across UB's most diverse academic unit.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Build and manage a high-value donor portfolio by cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding major gifts ($100K+), advancing priorities across 29 departments and 16 academic programs.
  • Drive donor engagement nationwide through an ambitious travel and outreach strategy-deepening relationships and maximizing philanthropic potential.
  • Partner with college leadership, faculty, and volunteers to align fundraising strategy with institutional goals, leveraging collaboration and innovation for success.
  • Support a coordinated advancement program by working closely with colleagues across alumni engagement, annual giving, donor relations, and communications.
  • Maintain accurate records and adherence to best practices and policies in donor management, using CRM systems for strategic planning and reporting.
  • Contribute to a vibrant, supportive team culture through participation in meetings, professional development, and cross-functional projects.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of five years of fund-development experience with a proven track record of personal solicitation, relationship building, and achieving or exceeding fundraising goals and performance metrics. Related experience in sales, marketing, financial planning, or other goal-driven professions demonstrating success in relationship management, business development, and revenue generation will be considered.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; negotiation skills.
  • Project management experience.
  • Demonstrated success working within a complex organization, building collaborative relationships across diverse stakeholder groups, and achieving strategic objectives.

Salary Range
$100,000 - $115,000
