City Year is an American education nonprofit organization founded in 1988 dedicated to helping students and schools succeed. The organization partners with public schools in 29 high-need communities across the US and through international affiliates in the UK and South Africa. City Year recruits young adults, aged 18–25, to serve as AmeriCorps members for one year, working full-time in schools as tutors, mentors, and role models. City Year's focus is on students' overall success, not just academics.
