Qualifications

• Technical degree in diesel technology or related field required.
• 4-6 years of diesel technician experience needed.
• Previous leadership experience in a shop preferred.
• Transportation industry experience is a plus.
• Must be available to work at least one weekend day per month.
• Strong leadership abilities to foster a high-performance environment.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude essential.

Responsibilities

• Reinforce Schneider's core values as shop leader.
• Address unsafe behaviors to ensure compliance.
• Accountable for maintenance costs and repair decisions.
• Communicate effectively with other business areas regarding equipment needs.
• Maintain inventory of necessary parts.
• Manage the shop budget, including various expenses.
• Assign tasks to shop associates and maintain communication with them.
• Conduct audits of live work orders and associate performance.
• Set overall and individual performance goals for the shop.
• Ensure sufficient staffing of technicians and leaders.
