Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer for a one-year assignment to implement and manage data products and development platforms, ensuring data pipelines are scalable, secure, and efficient. The role will support a cloud-based, enterprise data management platform and contribute to modernizing data management and consumption capabilities. The engineer will work with modern data technologies including Databricks, Immuta, Starburst, Collibra, and AWS, with a focus on cloud migration, automation, security, operational efficiency, and data governance. The role is primarily remote with occasional in-office requirements for activities such as equipment provisioning and identification.

Key Responsibilities
• Define and document continuous integration and continuous deployment best practices.
• Implement and configure data engineering tools including Databricks, Immuta, Starburst, and Collibra within AWS environments.
• Solve complex technical problems using scripting languages across multiple environments.
• Evaluate new tools, technologies, and processes to improve speed, efficiency, and scalability.
• Coach application developers on proper techniques for building scalable applications.
• Conduct spot checks of product teams to support development and operations teams.
• Work with partners across business functions to align technology solutions with business strategies.
• Understand dependencies across multiple platforms and applications.
• Implement and maintain security in accordance with organizational security policies.
• Support data access control and governance through Immuta and Collibra integration.
• Build and maintain product and development platforms supporting enterprise data products.
• Support data and data management applications as they transition to cloud environments.
• Apply automation, testing, and operational best practices across data platforms.

Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a comparable technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of relevant technical experience, including 3+ years managing complex systems.
• Experience with AWS multi-region and resilient cloud services, particularly data infrastructure.
• Extensive hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline tools such as Jenkins and Maven.
• Experience with Databricks or similar data processing platforms.
• Knowledge of data governance tools such as Collibra and data access control systems such as Immuta.
• Experience with distributed query engines such as Starburst.
• Proficiency in scripting languages and Linux operating systems.
• Experience with source control tools such as Git, Bitbucket, or AWS CodeCommit.
• Familiarity with binary and artifact repositories such as Maven, Nexus, or Artifactory.
• Experience with Agile tools such as Jira or VersionOne.
• Strong automation, testing, and operational skills.
• Ability to work effectively across multiple platforms, applications, and business functions.
• Ability to comply with applicable organizational security and operational requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain the required background screening for the assignment.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with enterprise-scale data management and cloud modernization initiatives.
• Experience supporting multi-region, highly resilient AWS environments.
