Job Summary
The Senior DevOps Engineer will serve as the primary DevOps engineer supporting multiple development pods, with responsibility for CI/CD administration, pipeline development, release processes, and engineering productivity. The role combines hands-on technical leadership with strategic influence to design and continuously improve secure, scalable, reliable, and audit-ready CI/CD pipelines in a highly regulated environment. The engineer will drive automation, quality gates, security controls, responsible AI adoption, and standardized delivery practices while partnering with Engineering, Security, Risk/Compliance, and Operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
• Own the end-to-end CI/CD experience from build and testing through promotion and deployment.
• Design, develop, administer, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines and automation workflows.
• Establish standardized and governed pipeline patterns that are secure, reliable, scalable, and audit-ready.
• Implement quality gates, automated testing, security scanning, and compliance controls within delivery pipelines.
• Manage environment configuration, release orchestration, workflow automation, and production readiness.
• Develop reusable templates and self-service delivery patterns to improve developer experience and engineering productivity.
• Contribute directly to production-grade code and participate in architecture and technical design decisions.
• Coach and mentor engineers on DevOps best practices, workflow automation, testing, system design, and software delivery.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Security, Risk/Compliance, and Operations teams to resolve complex technical challenges and align delivery priorities.
• Apply automation and AI-assisted development practices to improve engineering throughput while maintaining appropriate safeguards and guardrails.
• Continuously improve system reliability, scalability, maintainability, release confidence, and operational resilience.
Required Qualifications
• 12+ years of professional experience, with 10+ years in software engineering and/or platform engineering.
• Demonstrated technical leadership experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Engineer, Senior Engineer, or equivalent role owning major systems.
• 1-2 years of AI software development experience, including experience with tools such as GitHub Copilot.
• Proven expertise building and operating CI/CD pipelines, including workflow automation, environment management, release orchestration, and quality gate implementation.
• Experience with modern DevOps toolchains, including GitHub-based workflows, artifact management, feature flagging, and automated testing platforms.
• Strong understanding of SDLC practices, including pipeline authoring, testing strategies, and code quality standards.
• Hands-on development experience with at least one major programming stack such as Java or C#/.NET.
• Strong understanding of application development, design patterns, and code review practices.
• Practical experience implementing secure SDLC practices, including secrets scanning, policy-based checks, and automated compliance validations.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills focused on improving system reliability, scalability, and delivery outcomes.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams and translate technical concepts into business impact.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working in a regulated environment with exposure to audit, risk, compliance, or change management processes.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code and cloud delivery patterns, including Terraform, cloud platforms, or platform-as-a-service environments.
• Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools or coding assistants and establishing team-level best practices for responsible and effective adoption.
