Position Description:

We CGI is looking for a Senior DevOps Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Kubernetes or OpenShift, Jenkins, and Groovy based Jenkins libraries, to join our fast paced and dynamic DevOps team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in automation, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure as code, with an emphasis on scripting and modern DevOps tooling

You will support and interact with the client daily with a focus across the organization. You will have the opportunity to show/grow with technology in a customer facing role. You should be able to work and guide team members and apply your knowledge to resolve technical issues. You should have sufficient knowledge and maturity to effectively deal with technical issues and help to support the broader team.

This is a Full-Time, On-Site employment opportunity located in Lafayette, LA in a Hybrid Model.

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, including development of shared libraries in Groovy and scripting in Shell.
. Manage container orchestration using Kubernetes or OpenShift, including deployment strategies, RBAC, ingress, and monitoring.
. Support and optimize build and release processes for Java 17 applications using Maven.
. Collaborate with development teams to integrate SCM best practices using Git and GitHub.
. Develop automation scripts and tooling using Python for operational efficiency and monitoring.
. Integrate and automate security and quality gates using tools such as SonarQube and Checkmarx.
. Leverage observability tools like Splunk and Dynatrace for proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
. Optionally, support infrastructure provisioning and management using Terraform. Optionally, support deployments and release automation via UDeploy (UrbanCode Deploy).

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

At least 10+ years of hands-on experience with:
. Kubernetes or OpenShift (deployment, Helm, YAML, etc.)
. Jenkins, including pipeline as code, and shared libraries in Groovy
. Shell scripting and Groovy
. Python scripting for custom automation and monitoring integrations
. Maven build system (specifically for Java 17 based applications)
. Git and GitHub workflows (e.g., PRs, branching strategies), GitHub Actions
. AWS and Terraform
. Azure

Good to Have / Bonus Skills:
. SonarQube, Checkmarx (for static code analysis and security scanning)
. Splunk, Dynatrace (logs, alerts, application insights)
. Terraform (for IaC deployments and infrastructure lifecycle management)
. UDeploy (UrbanCode Deploy)

Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
. Familiarity with Agile development methodology and concepts
. Demonstrated ability and interest in learning new technologies

Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science on related field.

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $90,700.00 $178,500.00.
