Full Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Design Manager - A/E Services to support LAUSD's Facilities Services Division. This senior-level role will oversee multiple seismic, critical repair, retrofit, and engineering repair projects while managing design teams and coordinating projects through the design review process.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple facilities design and capital improvement projects.
  • Lead and supervise architects, engineers, consultants, and other design professionals.
  • Coordinate the design process to ensure compliance with project scope, budget, schedule, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee design reviews and ensure projects meet LAUSD standards and guidelines.
  • Provide clear direction to architects regarding project goals, schedules, budgets, and performance expectations.
  • Monitor project planning and design progress and provide recommendations and status updates.
  • Review design changes and help ensure projects remain within budget.
  • Coordinate with architects, consultants, District personnel, and other project stakeholders.

Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • 14 years of full-time paid professional experience managing facilities design or planning and coordinating capital projects, including overall design, contract administration, cost estimating, and scheduling.
  • At least 4 years of experience involving the design, planning, and construction of educational facilities or similar public-agency projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Engineering.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Architecture or Engineering.
  • California-registered Architect or Professional Engineer (PE).
