Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with ABM engineering team and product owner to define and deliver technical solutions for client experiences.
  • Execute the strategic roadmap for the ABM domain, ensuring transition from strategy to implementation.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives focusing on client and employee experiences.
  • Identify and resolve roadmap and feature dependencies and impediments collaboratively within the team.
  • Manage SteerCo meetings for complex engineering programs & initiatives across Scotiabank.
  • Participate in long-range strategy planning and coordinate with vendors to tackle complex business issues.
  • Ensure all production releases meet Operational Readiness standards, including compliance and IT controls.

The Senior Delivery Lead is responsible for the engineering execution and delivery of technological solutions that support the Bank's ABM and Cash Recycling Unit(CRU) domain. This role ensures the timely delivery, quality, resiliency, and operational excellence of technical solutions which enhance ABMs and CRUs. This role partners closely with the Product Owner, Solutions Architect, QA and Software Engineers to align on requirements and priorities, delivering technical solutions that support strategic business outcomes. Reporting to the Senior Manager Engineering, this role plays a key part in translating vision into executable plans and ensuring those plans are delivered with a high level of quality, stability, and stakeholder alignment.

Is this role right for you? In this role, you will:

  • Partners with ABM engineering team and product owner, to define and deliver robust technical solutions that support best in class ABM client experiences.
  • Executes the strategic roadmap for ABM domain, as defined by the Business Lead and leadership team ensuring seamless transition from strategy to technical implementation, and fostering continuous feedback loops between engineering, infrastructure and the business.
  • Leads and manages end-to-end delivery of engineering initiatives which help better client and employee experience, ensuring proper planning, execution, testing, deployment, and ongoing support for all releases.
  • Work with the team to identify and resolve roadmap and feature dependencies and impediments
  • Lead SteerCos and help coordinate complex engineering programs & initiatives involving cross-functional teams across Scotiabank.
  • Participates in long-range strategy planning and manages partnerships with vendors and engineering teams to address complex business issues in the ABM and CRU domain.
  • Accountable to ensure that all releases into production meet the bank's Operational Readiness (OR) standards. This includes: i) Completing OR triage assessments. ii) Coordinating with control functions to meet compliance requirements. iii) Ensuring IT controls and standards are met to prevent incidents, security breaches, and customer impact.
  • Champions a client-focused engineering culture across their team, prioritizing value delivery, branch experience, and the secure, compliant operation of infrastructure solutions.
  • Champions root cause resolution of systemic issues regarding ABMs and CRUs.
  • Identifies opportunities for continuous operational and/or team improvement.
  • Ensures platform resilience and operational preparedness, guaranteeing application reliability through extensive monitoring, proactive issue detection, and detailed root cause analysis for incidents.
  • Ensure project and steady state financials are controlled and within budget.
  • Coaches and mentors Delivery Leads within team on best practices, technical knowledge, etc..

  • Demonstrates strong knowledge of Waterfall and Agile methodology while delivering IT projects. Ideally has Certified PMI PMP and Certified Scrum master (CSM/PSM)
  • 10+ years of progressively increasing leadership experience in Information Technology management data, platform, and system(s) management
  • Experience with GCP, containerization & orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker), Java 17, Springboot framework Boot (Spring MVC, Spring Security and Spring Data Repositories), build tools and dependency management (Maven, Gradle), SQL/ noSQL database, CI-CD Pipeline (Jenkins), HTML, CSS, React, jQuery, Bootstrap, AngularJS, UNIX shell scripting, KAFKA, Redis
  • Strong knowledge of network communications (VPN, Firewall management, Load Balancers), security protocols (SSL), Authorization mechanism (OAuth, JWT), infrastructure and troubleshooting.
  • Technical knowledge of Splunk, Dynatrace is an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and influencing skills with the ability to build and foster relationships with business partners, project stakeholders, strategic technology partners and external vendors.
  • A basic familiarity and/or understanding of the concept of an ABM and how it consists of front-end and back-end software layers.
