Location: Houston (Hybrid - at least 3 days onsite/week)

Visa Sponsorship: We offer sponsorship under specific treaty-based U.S. work visas, including TN and E-2 (for eligible Canadian, Mexican, and French citizens). We do not support or transfer other visa types (e.g., H-1B).

We are looking for a Senior Data Integration Developer to support a business-critical Energy Trading and Risk Management environment for one of our key energy clients

The role sits within a small technical team supporting FIS Aligne, a legacy on-premise ETRM platform, and its broader data ecosystem. The successful candidate will take significant ownership of the platform's integrations, data pipelines, databases, and downstream applications.

The environment supports approximately 300+ data pipelines, 150+ reports and dashboards, 4-6 custom applications, and 250 business users across Front Office, Middle Office, Market Risk, Settlements, and other operational teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, maintain, and troubleshoot ETL and data integration pipelines.
  • Build and support SSIS / SQL Server Integration Services solutions in an on-premise Microsoft environment.
  • Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, views, and database processes.
  • Support data ingestion from market, pricing, weather, broker, ISO, trade, and transactional data sources.
  • Maintain downstream data warehouses supporting historical reporting, KPIs, dashboards, and analytics.
  • Investigate production issues, failed data pipelines, and data discrepancies.
  • Support integrations between FIS Aligne and upstream/downstream systems.
  • Work directly with business users across trading, risk, settlements, and operations.
  • Contribute to Python-based data processing, automation, and integration solutions.
  • Take ownership of critical systems while the organization continues its migration toward its future trading platform.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor degree in Computer science, Engineering, Finance or Quantitative finance
  • 5+ years of relevant development/data integration experience, ideally in a senior capacity.
  • Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, SQL, SSIS, ETL, and data integration.
  • Strong experience working with on-premise Microsoft technologies.
  • Experience with data warehousing, data ingestion, database development, and production support.
  • Python development experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and database skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership within a small technical team.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to interact directly with business stakeholders.

Nice to have
  • Experience within energy trading, commodities, or ETRM environments.
  • Understanding of concepts such as P&L, positions, trade types, market data, pricing data, and front-to-back trading workflows.
  • Experience with FIS Aligne is highly desirable but not required.
  • Experience with other ETRM platforms such as Openlink / Endur is also relevant.
  • DBA / database administration experience is a strong plus.
