Position SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled
Senior Data Engineer to join our Data Engineering team to design, build, robust and scalable solutions to support data-driven applications analytics and business intelligence solutions.
You will partner closely with business stakeholders, analysts, product teams, and fellow engineers to engineer scalable, cloud-native data pipelines. Leveraging the modern GCP data stack you will own the full data lifecycle - from data modeling and ETL/ELT development to performance tuning, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
Location: Must work a hybrid work schedule in one of our hub locations (Chicago area, Boston area, New York City, Dallas area, Phoenix area, Hartford CT, or Woonsocket RI).
Required Qualifications- 3+ years of experience working with SQL and relational database management systems
- 3+ years of experience in Cloud Data Engineering Platforms such as AWS, GCP, Azure, Databricks, Snowflake etc.
- 3+ years of experience in on-prem Data Engineering Platforms such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Teradata etc.
- Programming and modifying code in languages like SQL, Python, and PySpark to support and implement Cloud based and on-prem data warehousing services.
- Hands-on experience with dimensional data modeling, schema design, and data warehousing
- Hands-on experience with troubleshooting data issues
- Hands-on experience with various performance improvement techniques
- Willingness to identify and implement process improvements, and best practices as well as ability to take ownership to work within a fast-paced, collaborative, and team-based support environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications- Experience with data platforms such as BigQuery, Teradata, Snowflake, Azure, AWS, or GCP.
- Experience supporting healthcare, pharmacy benefit management (PBM), or specialty pharmacy data environments.
- Familiarity with real-time data integration, CDC (Change Data Capture), or event-driven data architectures.
- Experience with workflow orchestration and automation tools.
- Exposure to cloud migration initiatives and hybrid data architectures.
- Experience with monitoring, observability, and operational support best practices.
EducationBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent work experience.

Pay RangeThe typical pay range for this role is:
$92,700.00 - $222,480.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
