Position Description:

The Health and Compliance group at CGI Federal is looking for Senior Data Architect who can be part of a large team in a dynamic and changing environment. Projects include software solution development and maintenance for mission critical applications in the federal healthcare space.

The projects utilize rapid design and development techniques to respond to client demands for meeting the challenges of healthcare reform and open government directives. CGI Federal provides in depth functional and technical expertise, offering clients a focused set of solutions that help federal health organizations to become more productive, cost effective, secure and service oriented.

***This position is located in our Fairfax, VA or Lafayette, LA office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable***

Your future duties and responsibilities:

Become part of a team to help a large government agency to support the maturing of the agency's service delivery capabilities and data analytics reporting capabilities. CGI Federal is seeking a Data Architect to support a large data modernization project for a federal agency.

Your future duties and responsibilities
. Provides expertise in designing, creating, deploying and managing an organization's data architecture.
. Able to define how data should be stored, consumed, integrated and managed by different data entities and IT systems, as well as any applications using or processing that data.
. Expresses strategic data requirements, outlines high level integrated designs to meet these requirements, and aligns with enterprise strategy and related business architecture.
. Provides guidance for infrastructure and software architecture and planning.
. Identifies and guides development of data standards.
. Develops data architecture principles, creates models of data that enable the implementation of the intended business architecture, creates diagrams showing key data entities, and creates an inventory of the data needed to implement the architecture vision.1

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

. Possesses a BS degree and 8+ years of work experience.
. Demonstrate an advance ability to manage large data sets, cloud computing, open source tools, and optimization techniques.
. 5+ years of proven experience in application architecture, Cloud Solutions with emerging technologies, Big Data, Data Modeling, Data Architecture, Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence.
. Understanding of modern data architecture and experience with core data services like maintaining data lakes, data warehouses, data marts as well as relational and dimensional modeling, data quality and master data management.
. Excellent data management and data governance skills and analytical thinking capabilities.
. Experience in designing data architectures that will define and deliver data as an asset
. Experience in Dimensional Modeling (Star Schema, OLAP Cubes, and Bus Matrix Mapping)
. Skilled in the design, deployment, and evaluation of tools, frameworks, and patterns to build scalable data platforms
. Experienced with industry leading data infrastructure technologies and end user tools
. Experience with troubleshooting data issues and identifying root causes of performance bottlenecks.
. Experience with SQL Server databases, Analysis services, SSIS etc.
. Strong SQL development skills using SQL, T SQL, PL/SQL, stored procedures etc.
. Knowledge of creating and delivering modern data platforms that will provide advanced analytical capabilities
. Proficiency in Visualization and Reporting Tools.
. Experienced with public cloud such as Azure (Preferred) or AWS
. Preferred Working knowledge of Azure data platform - data factory, data catalogs, data lake, analytics, Azure storage options, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Azure DevOps, etc.
. Preferred Experience migrating data from on prem to cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, GCP etc.
. Experience with Agile software development
. Experience with Azure DevOps (ADO) or Jira

Education:
Bachelor's Degree and 8 10 years directly related work experience is required.
This position requires meeting with the client in Baltimore, Maryland.

CGI is required by law in some jurisdictions to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $113,400.00 $223,200.00.
