Position Description:

CGI is seeking Java Developer with experience in building high performing, scalable, enterprise grade applications. The candidate will be responsible for Java Enterprise Edition application development while providing expertise in the full software development lifecycle, from concept and design to testing.

***This position is located in our Fairfax, VA or Baltimore, MD office; however, a hybrid working model is acceptable***

Your future duties and responsibilities:

. Full stack development across the back end, client side, and UI.
. Design and develop solutions following established frameworks, application development standards, and quality processes in projects.
. Assess the impacts on technical design because of the changes in functional requirements.
. Contribute to all phases of the application development lifecycle.
. Write well designed, efficient code compliant with existing framework and standards.
. Troubleshoot development and production problems and help quick resolution following procedures and laid guidelines.
. Support continuous improvements by investigating alternatives and technologies.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

8+ years of experience in the Java/JEE technology stack, with full stack development capabilities spanning database, server side development, front end development, and CI/CD integration.
Excellent Java development skills, including strong experience with Spring and Spring Boot.
Hands on experience developing modern, responsive front end applications using Angular.
Experience with web Model View Controller (MVC) frameworks, preferably Spring MVC (Struts experience is a plus).
Extensive UI development experience - JSP, HTML, JavaScript, CSS, jQuery (and ability to integrate these with Angular based front ends where needed).
Strong working experience with relational databases (Oracle or PostgreSQL strongly preferred; MS SQL Server experience a plus), including proficiency in writing stored procedures and optimizing queries.
Experience with Web Services (SOAP/REST), XML, and JSON.
Knowledge and familiarity with Java build systems and dependency management tools (e.g., Maven, Gradle; ANT experience a plus).
Experience with Software Configuration Management (SCM) tools (e.g., Git, SVN, ClearCase).
Experience working with application servers (e.g., WebSphere, WebLogic) and/or modern deployment environments.
Hands on experience using AI assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, IntelliJ AI, or similar) as part of the development workflow.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cross functional teams.

Desired qualifications/non essential skills required:
. Experience writing S 508 compliant code
. Experience with Jira, Confluence, Continuous Integration tools (Jenkins ), AWS cloud and DevOps

The determination of this range includes various factors not limited to skill set, level, experience, relevant training, and licensure and certifications. To support the ability to reward for merit based performance, CGI typically does not hire individuals at or near the top of the range for their role. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $89,600.00 $176,300.00.
