The PositionThis position is responsible to providing process management to Commercial Sales and Marketing as it relates to the development and execution of the cyclical Plans of Action (POAs). This position will partner with Portfolio & Brand Leads and Sales Execution (NCE) to create the POA storyline and will lead the POA core team. Additionally, this role is responsible for providing ad hoc support to the Associate Director, Cycle Planning & Operations as it relates to following areas: Enterprise Business Planning & Functional Resource Planning (FRP), NOVO CONNECT platform management & development and special project support and other department-related activities.
RelationshipsThis position reports to the Associate Director. The position is the lead for the Cardiometabolic & Rare Disease Marketing departments through the development and implementation of Portfolio plans and the achievement of Novo Nordisk P&L goals for all products. This position is accountable for cultivating and enhancing relationships with key departmental and cross-functional stakeholders, in particular those responsible for POA Execution. This includes, but is not limited to, Cardiometabolic & Rare Disease Marketing, Sales Execution (NCE), Employee Experience (EE) and Commercial Operations. External relationships include various partnerships with Novo Nordisk Production and Logistics Agencies.
Essential Functions- This role is primarily focused on leading and serving as the departmental liaison for all essential day to day department processes and programs related to POA, including but not limited to:
- Primary point of contact for the organization for POA cycle strategy/content requirements, related requests, questions and inquiries
- Serving as the POA Core Team Lead
- Serving as the on-site contact for all Pre-POA and POA Meetings for logistics, vendors, POA Materials and other ad hoc requests from relevant stakeholders on any other POA-related issues or actions
- Developing relevant departmental deadlines, coordinating the marketing training requirements, contributing to the development of Pre-POA and POA agendas, coordinating & scheduling review meetings & rehearsals with marketers as required, scheduling and execution of regular cross functional team meetings and managing delivery of POA-related tactics in a timely and accurate manner
- Creating, refining and maintaining POA activity tracker & POA Development Calendar
- Developing strategic partnerships with each channel to help in the development of successful POA meetings and cycles
- Working with Portfolio and Brand partners to create POA storyline
- Facilitate alignment of Portfolio and Brand Strategies to key Marketing milestones
- Leading POA cycle planning to ensure alignment of brand positioning with field execution (NCE)
- Leading established content owners through communication and timelines for each POA Cycle and ensuring Brand teams adherence to POA Development Calendar
- Managing the development of POA Pre-Work, including, requirements gathering, input sessions, PRB submissions and reviews, filming, postproduction and LMS posting, etc.
- Liaising with CL&D (EE) to ensure alignment with Brand Objectives, timely PRB submissions, print and distribution timelines
- Managing the gathering of supporting documents and other materials for the POA Cycle
- Making proactive recommendations to the team regarding POA planning and related items and drive process improvements
- Co-lead with the Associate Director, Marketing Operations to present solid POA Cycle & Pathway /Launch plans to include Portfolio/Brand objectives and Field Execution (NCE) for management endorsement through annual functional planning process and provide updates to Commercial Operations leadership team (CO LT), Business Unit leadership team (BU LT) and Executive Team (ET) when necessary
- This role also provides assistance to the Associate Director, Cycle Planning & Operations as it relates to: Enterprise Business Planning & Functional Resource Planning (FRP), NOVO CONNECT platform management & development, managing projects/tasks related to the department, establishing processes and operational excellence and ensuring deliverables and objectives are met
Physical Requirements10-20% overnight travel required
Qualifications- A Bachelor's degree is required
- Minimum of 5-8 years' tradeshow/event planning, project management, sales and/or product management/marketing experience required
- Demonstrated computer skills along with a intermediate understanding of technology development processes
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical marketing department functions and processes
- Pharmaceutical industry experience strongly preferred
- Prior experience in working with public relations and advertising agency vendors preferred
- The ability to organize and manage multiple projects/processes simultaneously
- The ability to work effectively and efficiently across departments
The base compensation range for this position is $120,300 to $222,600. Base compensation is determined based on a number of factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance. Novo Nordisk offers long-term incentive compensation and or company vehicles depending on the position's level or other company factors.
