The opportunity
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior, Platform Architect to join our Technology Strategy and Transformation team supporting our banking team. In this role, you will help banking clients design and implement modern technology platforms that enable business transformation, innovation, and operational excellence. You will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, engineers, and project teams to define scalable solution architectures, modernize application landscapes, and support the successful delivery of complex transformation initiatives.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Support the design and implementation of enterprise platform and application architectures aligned with client business objectives and technology strategies.
• Collaborate with business and technology stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and maintainable solution architectures.
• Contribute to application modernization, cloud migration, digital transformation, and platform optimization initiatives.
• Develop architecture artifacts including solution designs, architecture diagrams, integration patterns, technical roadmaps, and implementation recommendations.
• Assess current-state technology ecosystems and identify opportunities for process improvement, platform enhancement, consolidation, and innovation.
• Support the evaluation and selection of technology platforms, tools, and architectural approaches.
• Work closely with engineering, infrastructure, security, data, and product teams to ensure architecture decisions support business and technical objectives.
• Ensure solutions adhere to enterprise architecture standards, security requirements, regulatory considerations, and industry best practices.
• Participate in architecture reviews, design workshops, technical discussions, and governance forums.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to developers and junior consultants throughout project delivery.
• Support business development activities including client presentations, solution demonstrations, proposal development, and client workshops.
• Contribute to thought leadership, methodology development, reusable assets, and innovation initiatives within the Technology Strategy & Transformation practice.
• Stay current on industry trends, banking technology platforms, cloud technologies, AI-enabled solutions, and digital modernization approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 2- 5+ years of experience in technology architecture, design, and implementation, with a focus on digital transformation in a financial services environment.
• Proven experience as a platform architect
• Proven experience in leading cross-functional teams and managing complex technology projects.
• Strong understanding of cloud computing, data analytics, artificial intelligence, and other emerging technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and analytically.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Hands on background in infrastructure, platform engineering, or DevOps, with direct experience supporting AI workloads in production.
• Proficiency in Python and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform, with deep experience in containerisation and orchestration platforms, including Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, AWS EKS and ECS, and Azure AKS.
• Working knowledge of major cloud AI ecosystems and open-source platforms.
• Working knowledge of agentic AI monitoring and observability suites.
• Hands on experience building and deploying AI agents using open frameworks such as LangGraph and CrewAI, as well as proprietary cloud based agentic platforms.
• Deep experience in API integration and development.
• Consulting or professional services experience is strongly preferred.

EY reports salary ranges in accordance with applicable provincial pay transparency legislation. Individual salaries within the anticipated salary ranges noted below are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to internal equity, education, relevant experience, knowledge, and applicable skill sets.

• Toronto & Vancouver : $90,500 - $120,000
