What you'll be doing

As a member of CIBC’s team, the Senior Consultant, Business Systems Analysis will be responsible for providing advice and consultation for business application developments to ensure growth. The role provides technical leadership, interpreting complex information and participating in client business review sessions to influence decisions regarding the use of technology to support objectives. The Senior Consultant, Business Systems Analysis develops, recommends and facilitates activities required for the application of new technologies to support existing processes and client needs. The role provides expertise to project managers, coordinators and directors on technology functionality and utilization, utilizing a solid understanding of business dynamics. The role independently resolves a variety of ambiguous challenges with organization-wide impacts, devising new methods using strong analytic and inductive thinking. The Senior Consultant, Business Systems Analysis plays a critical role in bridging business needs with technology solutions in the Equity Markets Technology, Prime Services Dept, specifically related to the Synthetic and Risk and Margin area.

How you'll succeed:

  • Requirements Gathering and Analysis: Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their needs, objectives, and challenges. Elicit, document, and analyze business requirements for new or enhanced systems. Translate business needs into clear, actionable technical requirements . Testing and Quality Assurance to develop test strategies, plans, and cases to validate system functionality. Coordinate and participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) with business users. Identify, document, and track defects or issues through to resolution.

  • Solution Design and Recommendation: Evaluate current systems and processes to identify areas for improvement. Develop and propose effective technology solutions aligned with business strategy. Assess feasibility, risks, and impacts of proposed solutions.

  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a liaison between business units, IT teams, and external vendors. Facilitate communication and manage expectations among stakeholders. Lead workshops, meetings, and presentations to drive alignment and consensus and Support project managers in planning and executing business systems projects. Oversee business analysis activities throughout the project lifecycle. Ensure solutions are delivered on time, within scope, and meet quality standards.

  • Change Management and Training: Assist in designing and delivering training materials for end-users. Support business units during transition to new systems or processes. Provide post-implementation support and continuous improvement recommendations. Documentation and Compliance to maintain comprehensive documentation of requirements, designs, processes, and changes. Ensure solutions comply with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.

Who you are

  • You must demonstrate 7-10 years’experience as senior Business Systems Analyst to join our team in Capital Markets. Experience leading projects and designing innovative solutions. You must demonstrate a proven ability to elicit requirements, write comprehensive documentation, and manage stakeholders with strong communication and organizational skills. Advanced expertise in data analysis, gap analysis, and problem-solving is essential, along with proficiency in Excel pivot tables, Visio, and other Microsoft Office applications. In addition to core business analysis skills, Must bring in-depth knowledge of Synthetic and risk and margin analysis, equity operations, equity markets, equity swaps, derivatives, options analysis and trading, stock options, risk and strategic consulting, SQL databases, equities, US equities, and equities trading. Experience working with Confluence and Jira within an Agile environment is considered as must.
