What you'll be doing

You'll be joining CIBC's Enterprise Payments Technology team as a Sr. Consultant, Business Systems Analysis, supporting a portfolio of critical platforms across payment rails, fraud controls, commercial account ledger capabilities, real-time payments, and other core commercial banking and mainframe-based applications. In this role, you will lead business and systems analysis activities across strategic initiatives and operational priorities, ensuring business needs are translated into clear, actionable, and delivery-ready requirements. You will work closely with business, operations, product, technology, and risk stakeholders, serving as a key liaison between partners and delivery teams.

You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you'll succeed
  • Strategic Advisory and Stakeholder Partnership- Be the strategic voice on agile teams by advising delivery teams and business leaders on scope, priorities, risks, and solution considerations. Build strong relationships across business, product, operations, technology, risk, SMEs, and working group members to drive alignment, informed decisions, and successful outcomes.
  • Requirements and Systems Analysis- Work closely with business partners, Product Owners, SMEs, and stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document complex business, functional, integration, data, and non-functional requirements. Facilitate sessions and workshops to elicit requirements from high-level features and capabilities, and translate them into clear artifacts such as user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data flows, and traceability documentation.
  • Solution Design and Delivery Support- Support and influence solution design discussions to ensure solutions are client-focused, aligned to business needs, and compliant with technology standards, quality expectations, and control requirements. Prepare and validate solution design documentation, clarify scope, assess impacts and dependencies, and where applicable perform detailed analysis of vendor solutions against business requirements and technology standards.


Who you are
  • You can demonstrate8 years of experience in. Business Systems Analyst in Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid/delivery-focused environments, preferably within banking, payments, financial services, or a financial institution. You have strong technical and domain knowledgeacross complex enterprise applications, integrations, APIs, messaging, batch processing, and preferably mainframe-based platforms, with knowledge of payments domain standards including ISO 20022, real-time payments, fraud/risk controls, and resiliency. You are skilled in business analysis practices, including requirements elicitation, workshops, documentation analysis, process modelling, process flow documentation, user stories, acceptance criteria, traceability, and the ability to review and support testing activities using industry-standard tools. You are an excellent communicator and problem solver with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels, translate requirements into actionable deliverables, manage multiple priorities, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You are comfortable using test management tools and platforms, including JIRA, Confluence, Visio, SQL, MS Office, AI-enabled productivity tools, and other collaboration and analysis technologies to support delivery quality and efficiency.
