Applicants must be a resident and work from one of the following states: WA, with occasional travel to our headquarters, located in Seattle, WA.

Why We Need You:

PEMCO has an opportunity for a Senior Claims Adjuster, Property to join our community. This position is responsible forsenior level property claims adjusting that provides outstanding service to all customers while thoroughly investigating, evaluating, negotiating property claims.

What You'll Be Doing:
  • Issue timely claims payments with a moderate level of claims payment authority; present files outside of authority level for review and approval.
  • Occasional CAT duty as needed
  • Interact with policyholders, agents, claimants, witnesses, attorneys, contractors, public adjusters and other vendors/partners to facilitate accurate, prompt claims resolution.
  • Effectively manage fluctuating workload, with low to moderate supervision, while maintaining focus on claims quality and customer experience.
  • Direct and coordinate vendors and experts in order to achieve restoration project timeline goals while keeping insured apprised, ensuring remarkable customer experience.
  • Conduct physical inspections at the scene of loss to determine scope of damage and control estimates provided by vendors.
  • Collaborate with other internal departments in recognizing and referring claims involving SIU, subrogation, auto physical damage, and total loss.
  • Build rapport with policyholders, customers, agents, carriers, attorneys and vendors to facilitate prompt and accurate claim resolution.
  • Apply case and statutory law in the proactive adjustment of moderate to complex property claims located in Washington and Oregon.
  • Accurately interpret coverage using experienced level contract, regulatory and compliance knowledge, following company file handling procedures.

What You'll Bring:
  • B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent work experience (business or related field)
  • 6 years of experience in adjusting moderate to complex property and/or casualty claims is required. Claims experience in combination with transferable experience in contracting or water mitigation will be considered.
  • Insurance industry designations or certifications preferred
  • MS Office: Skilled proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook is required
  • Job specific: Skilled proficiency with residential and estimating software, such as Xactimate is required
  • Compliance: Knowledge and understanding of relevant laws, rules, and regulations is required
  • Job specific: Valid driver's license and a good driving record is required
  • Customer First: Has a relentless focus on the customer and dives deep into the challenges they face with a strong customer service orientation


Compensation:

The pay range for this role is shown below. Compensation decisions are determined based on an individual's qualifications, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
  • Greater Seattle area target pay range: $87,406- $106,830. The full pay range is $72,839 - $121,398.
  • Outside Greater Seattle area target pay range: $77,138- $94,280. The full pay range is $64,282 - $107,136.

Greater Seattle Area is defined as working within approximately 100 miles of Seattle.

Outside Greater Seattle is defined as working approximately 100 miles or more from Seattle.
