Position Overview

Marathon Petroleum Company LP (MPC) has an exciting opportunity within the Middle Office organization for a Senior Business Analyst. This role will serve as a key partner to Middle Office leadership and act as the primary liaison between Middle Office stakeholders and Digital teams, helping ensure business priorities, requirements, and strategic objectives are effectively translated into business capabilities and solutions.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across Middle Office, Commercial, Risk, Finance, Accounting, and Digital organizations to identify business needs, improve processes, define requirements, and support delivery of initiatives that enhance business performance and operational effectiveness. This position will play an important role in helping shape and mature Middle Office capabilities while fostering strong cross-functional partnerships and alignment.

This is a unique opportunity to support a growing organization focused on risk oversight, performance measurement, data, reporting, and governance. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, relationship builder, and problem solver who can navigate complex business challenges, facilitate collaboration across diverse stakeholder groups, and drive continuous improvement through effective business analysis and partnership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with Middle Office stakeholders to elicit, document, and prioritize business requirements supporting Risk, Performance Measurement, Data, and Reporting capabilities.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Middle Office and Digital teams to ensure business priorities and requirements are effectively communicated and understood.
  • Facilitate business process reviews, requirements workshops, and stakeholder discussions to support continuous improvement and delivery of business capabilities.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Product Owners, Business Partners, and Digital teams to translate business needs into actionable requirements.
  • Support business process documentation, workflow analysis, and identification of process improvement opportunities.
  • Partner with stakeholders to document business rules, data requirements, and reporting needs that support data governance and data quality initiatives.
  • Participate in testing, business readiness, and adoption activities for system enhancements and new capabilities.
  • Build and maintain strong partnerships across Middle Office, Commercial, Finance, Accounting, and Digital organizations.


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Four (4) years of relevant experience


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience partnering with Product Managers, Product Owners, Agile delivery teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience supporting Commercial, Energy Trading, Risk Management, Finance, Accounting, and Supply Chain functions.
  • Proficiency with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Databricks, Snowflake, Azure, and enterprise reporting tools.
