Job Summary:

The Senior Business Analyst for Program Management & Delivery -Platform Engineering, AI and Advanced Analytics will join a team responsible for delivering the products and platforms that enableOMERSInvestmentsto analyze investment opportunities, make investment decisions, and optimize the OMERS investment portfolio as well as support major transformational initiatives across the enterprise. The Snr. Business Analyst works closely with investment teams including Capital Markets, Infrastructure, Private Equity, Growth Equity, and Ventures, as well as with Finance, Risk & Compliance teams.

As a key member of the Program Management & Delivery team, the Snr. Business Analystis responsible forimproving data and analytics capabilities, championing industry best practices, and delivering high-quality business requirements to support investment decision-making.

The Senior Business Analyst will analyze existing systems and document requirements for new systems and features.They will cultivate a business relationship toassistin meeting business demands and collaborate with Power BI developers, data scientists, and investment professionals to support and engage in technical support, research, and integration as part of one or more productteams.

As a member of this team, you willbe responsible for:

Technical:

  • Documenting existing business processes,identifyingopportunities to create efficiencies, and ensuring technical teams understand what to build to automate them

  • Analyzing existing systems functionality, data, and infrastructure and how they communicate with other systems

  • Identifyingand defining detailed product requirements and use cases using various techniques, such as user stories, requirements documents, use case diagrams, and data flow diagrams

  • Investigating, evaluating, and proposing solutions toidentifiedproblems

  • Chairing design review sessions, ensuring requirementsareaccurately captured and understood by those working to meet them

  • Defining and executing business test plans, performing performance and integration tests, and helping automate regression tests

Organizational:

  • Collaborate with the Program Manager and team to understand anddeliver againstthe goals

  • Operating in a hybrid Agile/waterfall development environment

  • Communicating effectively with other analysts and various other partners such as product managers, data engineers, IT infrastructure specialists, security specialists, enterprisearchitectsand members of senior management

  • Leading change and communicating impacts to partners and fellow team members

  • Identifying,definingand implementing opportunities for improving existing processes

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensuretimelydelivery

  • Serving as a liaison to the business community

  • Leading small projects in the role of project manager

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in understanding the capabilities in complicated interconnected systems, and in finding ways to document them, so they can be easily understood by other people. Financial industryapplication ispreferred. Working on large programs and projects is preferred.

  • ABachelors Degreein a scientific or engineering field of study or equivalent work experience

  • CBAP certification is considered an asset

  • Knowledge ofIndustrybest practices.Demonstrated ability to ask probing questions to uncover underlying business needs and translate them into clear technical requirements

  • Financial and Investment systems knowledge preferred

  • Experience working in Private or Capital Markets isadvantageous

  • Relationship Building. Consistenttrack recordof building deep business relationships. Experience in aligning expectations across various partners

  • Teamwork. Motivated and keen to work in a collaborative environment with a focus on team success

The expected salary range for this position is $86,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year.
