Full Job Description
Position Summary:

The Senior Auditor will work on high-impact audits and consultative projects across various aspects of the business. This role is responsible for executing audit testing and reviews specifically focusing on Apartment Processes, Information Technology General Controls (ITGCs), and various operational audits. This position interacts with a wide array of company associates and leadership across the organization.

This position is key in ensuring compliance is maintained with the Company's established policies and procedures, advocating for operational effectiveness, identifying process improvements, and reporting control weaknesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, lead and execute structured operational and information technology reviews across various activities and processes with the objective of improving internal controls and increasing operational effectiveness.
  • Partner with the internal Apartments Compliance team to conduct end-to-end process evaluations, assessing the effectiveness of compliance reviews and ensuring community alignment with established best practices.
  • Perform information technology reviews, specifically focusing on Information Technology General Controls (ITGCs) including system access, change management, backup/recovery, and security operations.
  • Collaborate with Innovation Technology (IT), financial, and operational groups to deliver value by offering guidance on risk management approaches and evaluating internal control adequacy.
  • Execute walkthroughs and interviews, review pertinent documentation and records, synthesize detailed summary memos, and prepare comprehensive, well-structured audit workpapers aligned with professional standards.
  • Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls across divisions and identify opportunities for business process improvements, efficiency, and risk mitigation.
  • Complete scheduled audits and advisory projects in a timely and accurate manner, ensuring audit program objectives are fully satisfied.
  • Communicate audit and project results to Internal Audit Management and various levels of management through clear written reports and professional oral presentations, highlighting control weaknesses, fraud instances, operational inefficiencies, and process gaps, and collaboratively developing recommendations for corrective action.
  • Build and maintain productive, collaborative relationships with process owners, business partners, and internal audit colleagues, and actively share findings and best practices with team members.


Additional Skills:

  • Highly adaptable to various levels of client complexities across people, business processes, and technology systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Gemini Notebook).


Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience) in accounting, information technology, computer science, business administration, or a related field required.


Preferred Years of Relevant Work Experience:

  • 2+ years in public accounting or equivalent auditing experience (Big Four/national firm preferred), with commercial real estate or residential property management background.
  • Experience executing ITGCs and operational audits within commercial real estate or residential property management.
  • Exposure to ERP and real estate systems (e.g., RealPage OneSite, Salesforce, MRI).


Additional Requirements:

  • Relevant professional designation or progress towards one (e.g., CPA, CISA, CIA, CFE) is preferred.

Compensation:

Base Pay Range: $100,700.00 - $129,300.00

Actual placement within this range may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.
