Job Description

The Technology Investment Banking Group has a significant presence across all major technology sub-sectors. Our Associates work as integral members of client teams that provide a wide range of services, including: general financial advice, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, special committee assignments, takeover defenses, corporate restructurings, strategic partnerships/joint ventures and advice on capital structure. Lazard is seeking an experienced Associate to join the group's very active New York practice.

We'll trust you to:
  • Direct financial analyses and review model
  • Lead preparation and creation of client presentations and marketing materials
  • Build relationships and engage directly with senior client executives, sponsors and other transaction counterparties
  • Manage deal processes, including execution of M&A, capital raising and other advisory transactions - overseeing due diligence, document preparation and coordination with clients and other stakeholders
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and proactively identify, solve and escalate issues before they become execution risks
  • Coach, develop and oversee Analysts and Junior Associates while fostering a collaborative team environment


You'll need to have:
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of investment banking experience (M&A experience strongly preferred)
  • A demonstrated team player attitude and leadership qualities with a strong motivation to contribute to a positive team culture
  • Strong quantitative background and analytical skills coupled with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to manage a variety of transactions and projects simultaneously
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to support, manage and empower junior bankers
  • Strong client and presentation skills
  • Meaningful exposure to the Technology sector, with significant experience in both buyside and sellside transactions in the corporate and sponsor arenas
  • Fluency in the use of AI tools and prompt engineering
  • Top academic performance with comfort operating in an unstructured environment which values initiative, creativity and maturity
  • Bachelor's degree required, an MBA and/or JD would be an asset

We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $225,000 - $275,000 USD. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant's years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, relevant skills for the role, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. Base salary is one component of Lazard Financial Advisory's compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
