Job Summary
The Senior Application Developer will develop and maintain APIs for multiple lines of business within an efficient Agile software development lifecycle and serve as an advocate for the API Management platform. The role will collaborate cross-functionally with Architects, Engineers, Business Analysts, and Service Managers to promote Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) best practices with a focus on scalability, maintainability, and reuse. The position requires strong software development experience in SOA environments, Microservices, and API development, along with the ability to quickly understand complex business environments and manage competing priorities.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain APIs supporting multiple lines of business within an Agile SDLC.
• Act as an advocate for the API Management platform and accelerate customer adoption and engagement.
• Partner with Architects, Engineers, Business Analysts, Service Managers, and other teams in a rapidly evolving environment.
• Enable application developers to adopt and promote SOA best practices.
• Design and develop services with an emphasis on scalability, maintainability, and reuse.
• Apply Microservices and API development practices to support business and technology objectives.
• Collaborate across multiple teams to deliver effective application and API solutions.
• Manage competing business priorities while adapting quickly to complex business requirements.
• Provide strong technical leadership and communication throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Support application quality, implementation, and ongoing production support activities.
• Work primarily during normal business hours, with participation in an on-call or rotational schedule based on business needs.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in programming, analysis, design, development, implementation, quality assurance, and application support.
• Practical experience and knowledge of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Microservices, and API Gateways.
• Experience with at least one API Gateway or API Management technology, including 3Scale, MuleSoft, Apigee Edge, CA Technologies, Tibco Mashery, Axway, or IBM Gateway.
• Strong software development background in SOA environments with experience developing services.
• Strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to quickly learn complex business processes and effectively manage competing priorities.
• Experience working in Agile software development environments.

• Experience working in the financial services industry.
• Experience supporting large-scale API Management platforms and enterprise application environments.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional technology and business teams.
• Candidates able to work from San Francisco, California, are preferred, with remote work also considered.
