The Senior Application Analyst - Epic Environments serves as a technical leader for Epic change management, environment strategy, and application lifecycle activities. This role is responsible for coordinating and governing application changes across Epic environments, managing Data Courier deployments, supporting Epic upgrades, overseeing application maintenance activities, and ensuring system stability and quality through effective change control processes.

The Senior Application Analyst - Epic Environments partners closely with application teams, infrastructure teams, operational stakeholders, and vendors to ensure changes are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with organizational standards. This role plays a key part in maintaining application reliability while enabling innovation and continuous improvement across the Epic ecosystem.

The Senior Application Analyst - Epic Environments will act as a mentor to more junior analysts on the team, answer questions and may delegate activities to other analysts.

Essential Duties

Include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Lead and facilitate Epic application change control processes; ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with analysts, project teams, operational leaders, and technical teams to assess change impacts and implementation risks.
  • Troubleshoot complex Data Courier issues and provide guidance to analysts and project teams.
  • Monitor change outcomes and identify opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and transparency.
  • Coordinate environment management activities across development, testing, training, and production environments.
  • Plan and oversee environment refreshes, upgrades, releases, and version changes.
  • Establish environment schedules and communicate downtime, maintenance windows, and system availability.
  • Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, database, and vendor teams to support environment stability and performance.
  • Liaise with business systems stakeholders and software vendor's implementation staff, ensuring alignment of business needs with delivery of systems changes.
  • Provide end-user support for issues entered into tracking systems.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on Epic deployment, environment, and change management strategy.
  • Act as delegate for Applications Manager for incident or problem resolution.
  • Provide mentorship for other peers and leadership to solve problems, answer questions, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Lead complex initiatives involving multiple applications and stakeholders.
  • Participate in incident response and root cause analysis efforts related to application availability.
  • Ability to work within normal business hours, as well as on-call, with potential for nights and weekends.

  • Support and comply with the company's Quality Management System policies and procedures.

  • Ability to work in front of a computer screen and/or perform typing for approximately 90% of a typical working day.
  • Ability to comply with any applicable personal protective equipment requirements.
  • Ability to travel approximately 5% of working time.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related field; or high school degree/general education diploma and 4 years of relevant experience in lieu of Bachelor's degree.
  • 5+ years of experience developing or configuring technology solutions, either in an application analyst or project delivery role and Subject Matter Expert in one or more of the following areas: patient identification workflows in the healthcare setting, revenue cycle, CRM & MyChart, Patient Registration, or lab order entry.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain relevant Epic software application(s) certification within 8 weeks of hire.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Current certification in Epic Data Courier Administration, Epic Security, or Epic Bridges.
  • Experience using Epic's Data Courier tool to maintain data integrity between environments.
  • Experience leading large-scale Epic upgrades and environment management activities.
  • Experience working with networking, interfaces, infrastructure, and integrated testing teams.
  • Experience in regulated healthcare, laboratory, or clinical environments.


The base pay for this position is
$78,000.00 - $156,000.00
In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
