Job Summary
We are seeking a Senior API Developer with proven experience architecting and delivering critical financial crime compliance integrations. In this senior role, the candidate will take technical ownership of designing, securing, and implementing real-time API layers that connect core processing systems with FircoSoft platforms (Trust and Continuity) and AI-driven automation via WorkFusion. The role will lead the implementation of complex enterprise integration patterns, ensure robust API security, and establish monitoring capabilities for high-volume, low-latency transaction flows.
Key Responsibilities
• Architect and build compliance interfaces, including Prediction Integrator interfaces, the Trust Interface with WorkFusion, and a custom Negative News interface for the FircoSoft Trust application.
• Design and build resilient, secure outbound API calls to WorkFusion and develop automated pipelines to process and validate WorkFusion responses for alert optimization.
• Develop system integrations with the FircoSoft Continuity CMAPI (Component Management API) to support transaction screening logic.
• Implement enterprise-grade error handling and intelligent retry mechanisms to prevent transaction drops.
• Build comprehensive audit logging to support regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Establish monitoring and observability frameworks to track system throughput, API latency, and operational health in real time.
• Lead complex JSON payload transformations and promote Enterprise Integration Patterns (EIP) across the team.
• Provide technical leadership for complex API and enterprise integration initiatives.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to design, develop, test, and implement scalable integration solutions.
Required Qualifications
• 7+ years of backend software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience leading integrations involving financial compliance platforms such as FircoSoft, WorkFusion, or similar AML platforms.
• Deep expertise in REST API design and development.
• Extensive experience implementing API security practices, including OAuth2, JWT, and mutual TLS (mTLS) for secure service-to-service communication.
• Expert-level proficiency with Java and Spring Boot for microservices development.
• Proven experience deploying and managing production workloads in OpenShift or Kubernetes environments.
• Strong hands-on experience building event-driven systems using Apache Kafka or IBM MQ.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking principles, internal routing, service meshes, and cloud security architecture.
• Experience with enterprise integration patterns and complex JSON payload transformations.
• Strong understanding of system resiliency, error handling, retry mechanisms, audit logging, and observability.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience migrating legacy compliance interfaces to distributed, cloud-native environments.
• Experience working with financial crime compliance, AML, or related enterprise platforms.
• Experience with cloud-native integration architectures and distributed systems.
Certifications
• Formal certifications in cloud technologies such as AWS or Azure.
• Red Hat OpenShift certifications.
• FircoSoft architecture certifications.
