A Little Bit About Our TeamThe Corporate Finance Department at WMG is responsible for overseeing all of the financial operations of the Company in partnership with the labels and individual companies within WMG. The department provides financial reporting, accounting, planning, budgeting, and financial compliance and auditing for the Company.
Your Role As a Senior Analyst on the Corporate Finance team, you will play a hands-on role in establishing, executing, and maintaining a new end-to-end cost allocation framework for centrally managed corporate departments (including Technology and other Corporate Shared Services). Sitting in Central Finance, you will act as the operational bridge between corporate department leaders, international Tax, Internal Controls, and global affiliate finance teams to ensure shared costs are accurately modeled, compliant, and properly accounted for in the general ledger. In addition to building and running this global allocation engine, you will provide critical day-to-day financial, budgeting, and accounting support for our centrally managed corporate functions. This role offers a unique opportunity to help build a global finance process from the ground up while diving deep into the financial operations of a global music leader.
Here You'll Get To:
- Assist in designing, implementing, and maintaining the end-to-end global cost allocation methodology for centrally managed corporate departments (e.g., Technology, HR, Legal, and other shared services).
- Partner with global affiliates to gather and validate cost-driver metrics (e.g., headcount, seat licenses, system usage), review allocation schedules with regional controllers, and track formal sign-offs.
- Collaborate with the Tax/Transfer Pricing and Internal Controls teams to apply validated mark-up pricing, ensure adherence to international compliance standards, and maintain audit-ready documentation.
- Perform key monthly close activities for corporate departments, including calculating recurring recharge pricing, posting intercompany journal entries, accruals, re-classes, and running periodic allocation true-ups.
- Prepare comprehensive month-end close packages and monthly forecast decks, featuring material spend analysis and variance tracking against budget and forecast. Participate in long-term (LT) planning and the development of financial models to facilitate key business decisions.
- Assist in compiling allocation and corporate spend data used for Board presentations and external reporting schedules.
- Assist centrally managed teams with daily operational needs, including invoice submissions, coding, vendor setup, purchase order (PO) tracking, and project cash-outflow monitoring.
- Identify opportunities to automate allocation rules, streamline reporting, and perform ad-hoc analysis as requested by senior management.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in Intercompany Accounting, FP&A, or Corporate Controllership.
- Demonstrated experience navigating complex financial models, large data sets, or intercompany/cost-allocation schedules.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial data clearly to non-finance corporate leaders and global stakeholders.
- Ability to meet deadlines consistently and effectively while managing multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong commitment to following up on open action items and assignments.
We'd Love It If You Also Had:
- CPA certification or Big 4 accounting experience.
- Exposure to international transfer pricing basics, intercompany accounting, or shared-services financial management.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Experience with SAP, Hyperion, or other large ERP systems.
