About the Role

We are looking for a Senior Data Analyst who is passionate about data and eager for the opportunity to support the Times' journalistic mission. As part of the Data and Insights Group (DIG), you will join a large community of data analysts who partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and PMO teams across the business. You will be critical to achieving our subscription goals by unlocking insights, promoting data-driven decisions, and guiding our growth team toward opportunities. You will report to the Vice President, Growth Analytics.

Responsibilities:
  • You will write SQL to pipeline and analyze data
  • You will develop dashboards to expand access to data and analytics
  • You will perform data-oriented analyses and present them to high-level partners, helping guide team strategy
  • You will run and deliver A/B test results, and providing scope and analysis
  • You will demonstrate support and understanding of our value of journalistic independence and a strong commitment to our mission to seek the truth and help people understand the world


Basic Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience working with data analytics or data science teams to deliver analysis or a quantitative degree
  • Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases
  • Proficiency in Python or R
  • 1+ years of experience with A/B testing
  • 1+ years of experience with data visualization tools such as Mode, Tableau, or Lookr


Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with Google BigQuery, AWS, or other big data environments
  • Comfort with version control (Github, code review)
  • Proficiency in DBT
  • 1+ years of experience applying statistics to strategic problems
  • Familiarity with using Gen AI-enabled tools for analytics and workflow acceleration (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Hex)

The annual base pay range for this role is between:

$102,000-$110,000 USD

For roles in the U.S., dependent on your role, you may be eligible for variable pay, such as an annual bonus and restricted stock. Benefits may include medical, dental and vision benefits, Flexible Spending Accounts (F.S.A.s), a company-matching 401(k) plan, paid vacation, paid sick days, paid parental leave, tuition reimbursement and professional development programs.
