Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior AI Developer Tech Lead with extensive experience in large-scale software engineering, AI/ML implementation, cloud development, and technical leadership. The role will focus on designing and architecting greenfield systems, leading engineering teams, leveraging GenAI coding assistants across the SDLC, and driving modernization of legacy platforms into scalable distributed architectures.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead and mentor software engineering teams and junior developers.
• Design and architect large-scale systems from scratch in greenfield environments.
• Apply GenAI coding assistants across the SDLC, including implementation, refactoring, unit testing, regression support, code reviews, scripting, automation, troubleshooting, and documentation.
• Establish team-level practices for effective AI-assisted development.
• Apply engineering judgment and validation to ensure correctness, quality, security, and maintainability of AI-assisted implementations.
• Utilize tools such as GitHub Copilot and Claude Code within IDE and CLI-based workflows.
• Apply agentic workflows, spec-driven development, custom instructions, and prompt engineering.
• Translate low-level design artifacts, including class structures, API contracts, and data models, into structured specifications that guide AI-assisted implementation.
• Develop large-scale software using Java, Spring Framework, cloud technologies, and Web Services supporting high-volume transactions in highly available environments.
• Implement and deploy AI/ML solutions into production environments.
• Design, develop, and support containerized and microservices-based applications in cloud environments.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting continuous integration and continuous delivery.
• Support cloud deployments using Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), AWS, or GCP.
• Work with databases including MongoDB, Aerospike, and PostgreSQL.
• Support IT transformation and system modernization initiatives, including migration from legacy Mainframe COBOL/DB2 applications to Java-based distributed platforms using SQL or MongoDB.
• Work with Large Language Models such as GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, and PaLM.
• Collaborate with developers, architects, and adjacent teams to deliver technical solutions.
• Develop technical and architectural documentation, functional and technical specifications, and automated testing processes.
• Research and document production and test environments, architecture, and design.
• Support quality engineering practices, including Test Driven Development and QA automation.
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 12+ years of professional software engineering experience developing large-scale software using Java, Spring Framework, cloud development, and Web Services.
• Experience supporting high-volume transactions in highly available environments.
• 2+ years of hands-on experience with AI/ML implementation and production deployment.
• 6+ years of experience working with containers and microservices in cloud environments.
• 6+ years of experience with cloud deployment using continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD) models.
• 5+ years of experience with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF), AWS, or GCP.
• 5+ years of experience working with MongoDB, Aerospike, and/or PostgreSQL.
• 2+ years of experience with IT transformation and system modernization initiatives involving migration from legacy platforms to distributed architectures.
• Hands-on experience with Large Language Models such as GPT-5, Claude, Gemini, or PaLM.
• Demonstrated experience as a Tech Lead or Team Lead, including grooming and mentoring junior developers.
• Experience designing and architecting systems from scratch in greenfield environments.
• Demonstrated practical experience with GenAI coding assistants such as GitHub Copilot or Claude Code.
• Working knowledge of agentic workflows, spec-driven development, custom instructions, and prompt engineering.
• Understanding of broker-dealer capabilities and operations.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to lead engineers in a collaborative environment.
• Strong collaborative mindset and bias for action when working with developers, architects, and adjacent teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Master's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Good knowledge of messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ, Kafka, or equivalent.
• Experience in the Financial Services industry.
• Experience with Test Driven Development, QA automation, and quality-focused engineering practices.
• Proficiency in developing Visio diagrams, architectural and design documentation, functional and technical specifications, and automated test processes.
• Willingness to learn all aspects of the technology stack and document technical solutions.
• Ability to research and document production and test environments along with architecture and design work.
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.
• Experience with Atlassian tools such as Jira and Confluence.
