This is a hybrid position with a mix of in-office and remote work. Work arrangements will be discussed with hiring managers per departmental guidelines.

Your Role

The Technology & Infrastructure (T&I) AI Lab at CBC/Radio-Canada operates as an agile, high-performance innovation hub. Our mission is to prototype, experiment with and deploy artificial intelligence solutions for media production systems across the organization. We design customized functionalities and seamlessly integrate advanced AI technologies into our existing product ecosystem.

We are looking for an AI Analyst who is pragmatic, curious, ambitious and ready to kick-start their career in applied AI. Backed by senior experts, you will work in a highly experimental environment where your initiatives will have real, immediate impact.

Our team is supported on a day-to-day basis by next-generation coding assistants like Cursor and Claude to optimize ideation, development, debugging and documentation. By joining our team, you will learn to leverage those tools while ensuring the highest standards of reliability, security and code integrity for your deliverables.

Your Responsibilities

  • Play an active role in the full life cycle (prototyping, development, deployment) of AI-driven applications and features, with a specific focus on cloud architectures.
  • Help fine-tune, evaluate and integrate large language models (LLMs) into our core business processes.
  • Set up and maintain testing, monitoring, feedback and performance assessment protocols for our AI systems.
  • Assist the team in connecting intelligent agents to internal or external services and APIs (using the MCP protocol or equivalent tool frameworks).
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams (product, architecture, data science) to embed AI capabilities into our digital platforms.
  • Conduct exploratory proofs of concept to bridge AI with our legacy systems and build viable new products.
  • Leverage AI co-pilots to accelerate your development workflow while maintaining strict standards for test coverage, code quality and IT security.

Minimum Requirements

  • University degree in software engineering, computer science, data science or a related field.
  • One to two years’ hands-on technical experience in software design (gained through internships, academic projects, personal initiatives or early professional work).
  • Strong proficiency in Python, TypeScript or Java, together with an outstanding capacity for continuous learning.
  • A solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, including quality control, debugging, testing methodologies and information security.

Preferred Qualifications (Assets)

  • Professional or personal projects involving machine learning, LLMs, RAG architectures or autonomous agent development.
  • Keen interest in the media industry, audiovisual production, entertainment or creative technologies.
  • Familiarity with cloud ecosystems and modern AI libraries or frameworks (PyTorch, CrewAI, LangGraph, etc.).
  • Demonstrated practical experience with AI-assisted coding tools like Claude and Cursor.
  • Active involvement in the open-source community or a portfolio of exploratory AI projects.
