Full Job Description
Role Overview:

This role is for a Senior Agile Coach, responsible for driving agile transformation across entire organizations and programs, not just individual teams. The coach will act as a trusted advisor to engineering leadership, providing data-backed input on delivery health and designing robust ADO structures for multi-team environments. The position requires a focus on shifting engineering culture towards outcome-orientation and building Scrum Master capabilities within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coach entire organizations and programs, extending beyond individual teams.
  • Design and execute multi-team agile transformation programs with measurable milestones.
  • Operate as a trusted advisor to engineering leadership, offering candid, data-backed input on delivery health.
  • Design ADO structures for multi-team environments, including area paths, team configurations, cross-team dependency tracking, and portfolio-level visibility.
  • Implement agile practices at scale, such as overall retrospectives, cross-team sprint synchronization, area product ownership, and self-selection processes.
  • Lead without direct authority, influencing vendor teams, internal teams, and organizational structures.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive metrics framework covering flow, stability (DORA), quality, and backlog health.
  • Shift engineering culture from output-focused to outcome-focused and sustain this change.
  • Facilitate difficult organizational conversations between PMO and engineering, vendors and product, and teams and leadership.
  • Build Scrum Master capability in others by mentoring junior and mid-level SMs, identifying gaps, and providing structured coaching.
  • Operate across multiple teams simultaneously with full situational awareness on each.
  • Produce quarterly maturity assessments for each team, including trend data and forward plans.
  • Drive DORA metric baseline tracking and improvement for deployment frequency, change failure rate, and MTTR.
  • Own and drive cross-team impediments to resolution.
  • Contribute to the engineering standards playbook.
  • Conduct structured capability reviews for junior and mid-level SMs under their oversight.

Required Skills:
  • Demonstrated scaled experience in agile operations or implementation.
  • DORA metrics literacy, with the ability to explain and improve deployment frequency, change failure rate, lead time for changes, and MTTR.
  • Experience challenging and changing organizational structures that hinder team effectiveness.
  • Evidence of having built and sustained psychological safety on previously defensive or siloed teams.
  • Ability to run executive-level conversations using delivery data, focusing on constraint analysis rather than just status updates.
  • Leadership Essentials - Managing Secure Delivery and Operations.
  • Project Management.

Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience.
