Senior Advisor, Technical Program Management

Our Technical Program Management team within Materials & Procurement is at the center of that work - developing strategies that balance cost, quality, and innovation across global supply chains.

We combine our expertise in manufacturing cost structures, component-level costing, and logistics cost analysis to develop commodity strategies that drive competitive pricing and strengthen Dell's product portfolio.

We're looking for a Senior Advisor, Technical Program Manager to lead cost optimization efforts across our Server & Storage portfolio. If you thrive at the intersection of engineering, procurement, and program management, this role was built for you.

Responsibilities

You will:

Drive Product Cost Strategy
  • Develop and communicate structural cost targets for Server & Storage programs from concept (Define) through planning phases
  • Deliver cost analysis, Technology Tax assessments, and Design to Value/Design to Cost insights at both the component and system level
  • Identify and drive cost optimization opportunities through product development, procurement strategies, and competitive teardown activities


Lead Across Teams
  • Partner with Engineering, Marketing, Procurement, and Product Management to manage complex, high-priority programs from design through delivery
  • Define business requirements and facilitate adoption of new infrastructure with cross-functional partners
  • Maintain program cost milestones and ensure alignment with broader program schedules
  • Present cost insights and recommendations in forums ranging from working-level sessions to executive reviews


Shape Strategy
  • Analyze emerging market and technology trends and translate them into actionable cost strategies for Dell Technologies and our customers
  • Develop practical solutions to complex business challenges through thorough investigation and stakeholder collaboration

Essential Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in engineering, procurement, product cost management, or a related technical field
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in product design or engineering environments
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross-functional programs and competing priorities
  • Strong communication and influencing skills - you can guide diverse teams toward alignment without direct authority


Desirable Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in engineering (EE, ME, CE, CS) or a related field and familiarity with x86 server and storage architectures and technologies
  • Procurement or supplier management experience with Design for Cost/Value methodologies and competitive product teardowns
