What we are looking for

Aurora is seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounts Payable Analyst to join our Finance team. In this role, you will serve as a subject-matter expert across our AP operations - owning end-to-end invoice processing in NetSuite, leading AI-powered automation initiatives, maintaining rigorous SOX and audit compliance, managing cross-functional projects, and driving swift resolution of complex vendor issues. You will play a critical role in scaling our financial operations as Aurora continues to grow.

In this role you will

NetSuite Processing & Reporting
  • Serve as the primary AP user in NetSuite, managing vendor records, payment runs, and period-close activities.
  • Build and maintain NetSuite saved searches, custom reports, and dashboards to provide real-time visibility into AP aging, accruals, and cash flow.
  • Lead NetSuite configuration improvements and participate in system upgrades or module implementations affecting AP workflows.
  • Partner with the accounting team to ensure accurate GL coding and subledger-to-ledger reconciliation.
  • Generate monthly, quarterly, and ad hoc AP reporting packages for Finance leadership and business partners.

AI Automation & Process Innovation
  • Champion the adoption of AI and intelligent automation tools (e.g., OCR-based invoice capture, AI-assisted coding, workflow automation) to reduce manual processing time and error rates.
  • Evaluate, pilot, and implement AP automation solutions, collaborating with IT and Finance Operations to manage integrations into NetSuite.
  • Develop process documentation, change management materials, and training for automation rollouts.
  • Track and report on automation KPIs - straight-through processing rates, exception rates, cycle times - and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay current on emerging AP technology trends and proactively surface opportunities to enhance Aurora's AP capabilities.

SOX & Audit Compliance
  • Own and maintain key AP SOX controls, including invoice approval workflows, segregation of duties, payment authorization thresholds, and vendor master governance.
  • Prepare and deliver documentation, evidence packages, and walkthroughs for internal and external audits with minimal lead time.
  • Monitor the AP control environment on an ongoing basis, identifying gaps or deficiencies and driving timely remediation.
  • Partner with Internal Audit and the Controllership team to respond to control observations and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, GAAP, and applicable regulatory requirements across all AP activities.

Project Management
  • Lead or support AP-related projects such as ERP enhancements, automation implementations, policy updates, and shared services transitions.
  • Define project scope, timelines, milestones, and stakeholder communication plans; track progress and escalate risks proactively.
  • Coordinate cross-functional workstreams involving Finance, IT, Procurement, Legal, and external vendors.
  • Document current-state processes, design future-state workflows, and manage end-to-end testing and go-live activities.
  • Prepare executive-ready status updates and post-implementation reviews.

Vendor Issue Resolution
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex vendor disputes, payment discrepancies, duplicate invoices, and statement reconciliations.
  • Establish and maintain productive relationships with strategic vendors, ensuring AP service levels are met and issues are resolved quickly.
  • Investigate root causes of recurring vendor issues and implement systemic fixes to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Legal on vendor onboarding, contract terms affecting payment, and supplier compliance requirements.
  • Maintain vendor communication standards and ensure timely, professional responses to all escalated inquiries

Required qualifications
  • 6+ years of progressive accounts payable experience, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
  • Hands-on NetSuite expertise - bill entry, vendor management, saved searches, reporting, and period-close processes.
  • Direct experience with SOX compliance in an AP environment, including control ownership and audit support.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or managing AP automation tools (OCR, workflow automation, AI-assisted processing).
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to drive multiple initiatives simultaneously across cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable working with large data sets in Excel or Google Sheets.
  • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational discipline.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to Finance leadership and auditors.

Desirable qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or AP certification (e.g., IOFM) a plus.
  • Experience at a high-growth technology company.
  • Familiarity with Coupa, or other P2P platforms integrated with NetSuite.
  • Experience with AI-powered AP platforms (e.g.- Vic, Stampli, Tipalti, BILL) or RPA tools.
  • Working knowledge of multi-entity AP environments.
