ABOUT THE ROLEWe are looking for a highly driven and strategic
Senior Accounting Manager to lead and oversee end-to-end accounting operations, financial reporting, and compliance processes, while supporting the development of junior team members and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate is a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills, extensive experience in accounting for professional services or technology companies, and the ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment.

- Maintain, update, and reconcile the general ledger monthly, ensuring accurate data entry, minimizing discrepancies, and preparing and reviewing general accounting entries.
- Execute timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing processes, including performing reconciliations between accounting and auxiliary modules/schedules, customer and supplier accounts, and intercompany balances (detecting and following up on discrepancies)
- Oversee and ensure efficient and accurate accounts payable and receivable processes, including the preparation and analysis of aging reports.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and monthly financial forecasts, monitor actual performance against budget, analyze variances, and provide insights.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local tax regulations by preparing and filing all required tax returns and other regulatory documents accurately and timely.
- Coordinate with external auditors during financial audits, providing necessary documentation, explanations, and preparing schedules to support the audit process.
- Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, and maintain compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct financial analysis, including cost analysis, profitability analysis, and financial modeling, to support informed decision-making.
- Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, providing guidance on tasks and professional development opportunities.
- Monitor cash flow, ensuring the organization has sufficient liquidity to meet its obligations, including updating and checking daily bank movements and reconciliations.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses for management as needed.
- Utilize Excel and accounting software effectively, ensuring data integrity and proper usability, and stay updated on software enhancements to recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with other departments (like sales and operations) to provide financial insights and support organizational objectives
- Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements and cost-saving measures within the accounting function.
- Support the payroll process
- Collaborate and coordinate with external tax advisors.
Required Qualifications & Experience:- +5 years of experience in financial teams as an Accountant, Financial Analyst, or a related role with a strong focus on accounting.
- Proven experience in professional services companies.
- Experience in IT consulting or technology companies is a significant plus.
- Highly autonomous and proactive with prior experience and knowledge of the role's responsibilities.
- Strong attention to detail to minimize errors.
- Advanced Excel skills required.
- Interest in technology and AI solutions is a plus.
- Experience with accounting software such as Business Central, QuickBooks, and others.
- Accounting-focused role.
- Knowledge of the payroll process and tax
- Ideally located in New York and available for hybrid work.

In compliance with local labor regulations, we are pleased to provide transparency by sharing the salary range for this role, which is
$120,000-$130,000 USD per year, plus a
variable bonus of up to $10,000 depending on experience and performance.
