THE OPPORTUNITY

Join a team that's changing financial services

Why We're Hiring for This Role

Zocks is growing rapidly, and we are building the finance function to match the scale and ambition of the business. The Senior Accountant will own core areas of the close and the day-to-day accounting operations, working directly with the Controller to build processes that grow with the company. We are looking for someone who brings strong technical fundamentals and a curiosity about what modern tooling and AI mean for the future of accounting. If that combination excites you, this is an unusual opportunity at a defining moment in our growth.
What You'll Do
  • General Accounting. Own large areas of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, accurately prepare journal entries, and reconcile ledger and sub-ledger accounts following each monthly close.
  • Revenue accounting. Reconcile the deferred revenue waterfall, support revenue recognition review in accordance with ASC 606, and collaborate with RevOps to ensure customer invoices match contracts
  • Financial reporting. Support preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP, perform financial statement analytics, and investigate variances.
  • Audit and compliance. Assist with audit readiness initiatives, support the fiscal year-end financial statement audit, and coordinate with external tax accountants on the PBC list.
  • Process improvement and systems. Assess and establish effective internal controls and best practices, maintain the accounting playbook, contribute to ERP and systems assessment, design, and implementation, and assist with maintenance of the Ramp spend management platform.
What We're Looking For
  • CPA designation required.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • 4 to 6 years of progressive corporate accounting experience.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting principles, including ASC 606, ASC 842, stock-based compensation, and SaaS revenue recognition.
  • Experience with financial reporting and SaaS metrics.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI to streamline workflows and improve processes.
What Sets You Apart
  • Public accounting experience.
  • Previous experience at a VC-backed tech startup.
  • Expertise with ERP systems such as Campfire, Rillet, or NetSuite.
