POSITION SUMMARY:The Senior Accountant - Plant Accounting plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of financial results for H&V Company's manufacturing plants. This role focuses on plant-level accounting activities while partnering closely with both plant operations and corporate accounting teams. The Senior Accountant will report directly to the Corporate Accounting Manager.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Prepare and review plant-related journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Analyze plant Balance Sheet and P&L results and variances versus budget, forecast, and prior periods.
- Support the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate reporting of plant results.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Accounting team to consolidate financials into corporate results.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to streamline financial and operational processes.
- Ensure adherence to corporate accounting policies and internal control requirements.
- Assist with external audit requests, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
- Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.
- Assist with general accounting tasks and ad hoc requests as needed.
- Provide guidance to plant staff accountants and assist with training as needed.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA preferred.
- Minimum 4-6 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
- Manufacturing or multi-site environment experience strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of cost accounting and inventory processes required.
SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC: - Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles.

- Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle,) and advanced Excel skills.
